I want to but one, but the ones that were made after this year are not as powerful because of the 12'' flame regulation. The force of the bullet is weakened due to all the escaping pressure.

I would guess it would depend on the model and the shape it is in. A brand name would be a little more but you should be able to pick up a Western Field or something similar for not too much. I don't think they are outrageous because so many were made. And thanks for the info on the 12" flame. I didn't know that. Good luck!.

Expensive? That all depends. I have an old Savage .22 that's worth quite a lot of money. Others not quite so valuable. Go to a reputable local dealer and buy a good one.

So what's limiting you to .22 cal anyway, if you want power try something a bit larger.

Well I have an old Remington M514 from 1962. It's still just as effective as my 10/22

what the heck are you talking about?

you are talking about rifles made before 1965 then you switch to ammo.

Make up your mind what your talking about. I have been shooting since I was 6 years old that makes it 26 years I have been shooting and I have never heard of this 12" flame reg.

My answer, is actually a question.

Where did you get your information about post 1965 .22 cal. rifles not being as powerful, as pre 1965 .22 cal. rifles ?

I own both & can't tell any difference in them.

I have no clue what you're talking about and suspect you don't either. There is no "12'' flame regulation".
