Spanish proof specs for a .45 muzzle loader with about 6inch barrel was noted 3.5 tons, conversion from metric marking in atmospheres, AU - Dixie Arms pistol- load suggested was about the 25 grains you state. Guess only would be about 6000 lbs or so, maybe less.

not sure of calc - lots depends on barrel length. what caliber ?
