On the walnut hand guard it has a fine hairline crack, its small but I just want to be sure (or my Dad just wants to be sure!) so how do you fix it? Let me know if you need pictures.

i just purchased a used marlin model 88. its a .22 cal semiauto rifle that is tube fed through the stock. what i am wondering is if there is any way to lock the action back in order to clean it? i cant find a way and im wondering if theres some trick to it. the only other thing i can think of is that it has to be fired and lockes back on the last shot. anyone know? also if theres an owners manual out there id love to get a hold of it.

Would a 20 gauge shotgun with the right load be good for starting out turkey hunting?

I like a chinese SKS. Accurate and never jams and cheap ammo. With a 30 round detachable clip mind you.

I designed a single-shot homemade railgun that fires copper ball bearings. After test firing it a bunch of times I tested it on a common tree squirrel. When he was on the ground I fired a shot at him and when I heard the bb hit him, his body was lifted off the ground and thrown almost 5 feet.

I do not have a chronometer (can't afford it yet) but I'm thinking my muzzle velocity must be higher than 2000 fps. I was wondering if anyone knows how many ft/lbs are required to "lift" a squirrel off the ground.

I have heard stories about barrels bending. I'm wondering because I take my 870 out to the range and I tend to shoot a large number of shells without stopping. The barrel gets pretty hot.

I have been scouring the internet trying to find non-lethal 12Guage shotgun ammunition for home protection. I cannot seem to find anything. I have called my local police station and they have ok'ed having non-lethal ammunition, but no store carries it. I have found one website, but it requires me to be of a law enforcement agency. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

I was just given a Marlin model 60 .22 cal long rifle. It looks to be in good condition, no rust or signs of abuse, but it also looks like it hasn't been cleaned since it was last fired over a year ago. I've heard that powder residue can corrode firearms and make them unsafe to fire. Is this true? And if so is there any good way to know if its beyond repair or does it just need a good cleaning before fireing again. I would appreciate any advice on this as well as any advice on storing firearms for long periods of time. Thanks.

I was given a Remington 7400 6mm rifle by a friend who had no need for it. I was wondering if this is a decent deer hunting rifle? Anyone know how much this might be worth? Thanks
