You can use a mechanical release with any bow. I've shot my recurve and longbow with a release to see how it felt. I still shoot my traditional bows with fingers but my compounds with a Scott release. If a release helps you shoot more accurate, go with it and don't worry about anything people might say about it. Hitting what you are shooting at is the name of the game.

yes but buy a release loop NEVER hook it in the string any of them out in VA. will work I got the cheapest one and have had it for 2 years (longer than my dad had his $40 one)
