Moose here in East coast Canada NL weight same as moose in Yukon, and are their heaviest before the rut ,in late September, they have full racks, coat and were eating good up til rut. I have seen huge animals in isolated places especially and watch several bulls every weekend across the pond from my cabin on a bog,one of them is older and huge. By the way (Ty D) that deboned moose you got at 1800lbs. must have been eating at Berger King and Mc. Donalds ,lol He was sufficently stuffed I guess lol

Males on average weigh from 1,200 to 1.600 pounds. Females are from 800 to 1,300 pounds. There are several sub-species of moose but Alaskan moose are the largest.

Ty D! What is a 270 Savage? Did you mean a Savage rifle in 270 Winchester/ 270 WSM, or did you mean a new Wildcat cartridge? I own rifles in 250 Savage, 300 Savage and 303 Savage and would love to fill the gap.

It depends on how big the moose is, the bigger the moose the heavier it is.
