Im looking into bying a set of fiber optic sights for my Springfield XD Sub-Compact 9mm. My question is this. Do all the XD's have the same sights? I found what I want online for Springfield XD but cannot find one specificly for a Sub-Compact. I need a definite answer as to wether the sights are exactly the same regardless if its a Sub-Compact or Full Frame version.
Furthermore is there any brand of Fiber Optic sight thet is better than the other? Tru Glow makes some they sell on Amazon for about $57 with shipping. Can I get em cheaper somewere else or is that the going price.
Third, is the sight something I can swap out myself or do I have to take my peice to a gunsmith?\
Thanks.

I live in Australia, I am 16 years old, never had any horseback riding experience but want to start lessons with one of my friends. We don't want it to be toooo expensive, but it is something I've wanted to do for ages! Would we need to supply our own helmets and whatever else you need? If so, how much do they cost? What is the average price of lessons? If you live in Australia too, do you know of any cheap places in Victoria? Any answers welcome and please make sure prices are in Australian dollars... and website links would be good too =]

We were doing a drive on a small area of woods on our farmland. When a 6 pointer takes off about 20 yards ahead of me by a stream. I take a shot with my shotgun and he disappears. I run up to the stream and he is in the water amost on his side trying to keep his head above the water. He is only about a foot away and is just chilling there trying to swim. So obviously I finished him off. When I pulled him from the stream I couldnt find a bullet wound other than the finishing shot. Is it possible he tripped into the stream and couldnt get out? can they swim well? I never thought I could walk up to him swimming without him talking off. Do you think i injured him causing him to fall into the stream or did he get startled and fall in? I didnt look him over great but it looked like he only had the one wound,

my brother likes to hunt, with bow and arrow which is respectable. i do like to eat meat, i understand the whole circle of life and natural selection philosophy, but i, personally could not kill a live animal. he does make a good point being that he lives in florida. he is going to teach his kids to hunt so that they will not be standing outside of the newly looted wal-mart after the next hurricane saying "what do we do now?"

Is it better to be in the flats, near a stream? High elevation or low? I am in the Bozeman MT area and have tried the Bridger range at Corby creek drainage, Olson creek (bangtail trail), Squaw creek and hylite.

I'm looking into building a gatlin gun kit for the farm for golf cart mount for varmint hunting. Has anyone had any experience actually using one of these modified 10/22 gatlin gun kits and really putting it through the paces, or are they just for light use and show-off appeal?

The kits can be found here:

Does anyone know if there is an inexpensive method to change this rifle to a more commonly available caliber? Or should I just take it apart, grease it, and store it in the closet? I am currently shooting ammo that costs $1.00 - $1.20 per round. Caliber is 7.65 x 53

well my town has a vampire problem and i need to do something about it for my community service. so tonight i am going to go vampire hunting and need to know what sort of supplies i should bring for the cheapest and most efficient ways of killing vampires. i already have a high powered light for inflicting minor burns if they get too close and some stakes to kill them once they are weakened and fake fangs so they will think i am one of them and a shotgun with a stake bayonet for 1 2 kill combos. i might be roaming around town for a while so what kind of clothes are comfortable and hard to see at night but also somewhat reflective so motorists dont kill me while i cross the streets. there may be as many as 20 vampires in my town so dont take this lightly and i have unlimited expendable money from the mayor to fund my hunting so dont worry about cost since our city has a lot of money from taxes.

Just wondering what some people thought about the new law stating un-plugged shotguns are legal for taking non-migratory game. Basically, 5 shots instead of 3. There just has been a controversy were I live about it. I personally don't see a problem, even though it usually only takes me 1 shot.

All input is welcomed even from residents of other states.
