I take all the mattresses and cushions out to prevent mice from moving in and eating them (take anything out you don't want eaten).
I empty all the water out of tanks and lines, jack it up and put blocks of wood under the axle to get the tires off the ground, then cover with a heavy duty tarp.

1. I make sure that all food products and food residue is cleaned out of my tent trailer.

2. I then put plain steel wool around any openings where mice can get in. Openings such as where the electric cord goes from inside to outside. Mice will not chew through steel wool.

3. I take about 4 small zip top plastic bags and put 5-6 moth balls in each bag. Then place each bag in places like under the sink and in the storage areas. This also prevents mice and other rodents from wanting to come into the trailer. Make sure you air the trailer well the first time you open it in the spring.

I've never had a problem with mice.

get the tires off the ground, put extreme smelly laundry sheats (lots of them) all over the inside of the camper. this will keep the mice away (they dont like the smell).
