I would not hug one for sure. I have a cabin in northern MN where the wolves have made a remarkable comeback in their population. My place is on a spruce bog at a lake and I go up on winter weekends to snowshoe out and ice fish the lake.
I clean the fish at the cabin, but it is primitive since we have no water or septic. The fish guts hit the fire pit and unless I have a fire going at the time will sit there until my neighborhood lone wolf comes and eats the fish remains. I find his tracks in the snow all the time, but we have only seen each other once as I was out ice fishing and he ran across the lake. He has become a part of my woods experience, much like the black bear that has twice taken my porch screen door apart to let me know he was there. I figure it belongs to them and I am only visiting.
I wouldn't shoot the wolf unless he threatened either me, my family or my dog. If any of those circumstances presented itself I would not hesitate to shoot him though.

Um....What kind of question is this? "Hug" a wolf? PFFFT! Go ahead and try hugging it, without being attacked. Are you forgetting that wolves are wild animals? They are not like your everyday domestic pet dog. You can hug your dog "Filo" or whatever its name is, but its not the smartest thing to go hug a wolf.
As for shooting a wolf? I'll shoot a picture of one with my camera,. Even though I'm a hunter, I couldn't bring myself to shoot one with my gun. Unless I was being attacked of course. If it came to that. Then yes I would shoot a wolf.

Well, you would have to shoot it first before you could hug it, otherwse it would just run away. But thats a dumb question. And no, I wouldn't hunt a wolf, it's a hunter itself. There's lots of moose calfs out there, we can share with the wolves no problem.

I would only shoot a wolf if it has become pesky (killing livestock and pets) or dangerous. This is true for coyotes and big cats. I only shoot feral cats & dogs for the same reasons. As for hugging one, I wouldn't; its not like they're lap dogs you know! Its not like hugging Benji, you know. LOL!
Best.

Would you rather make sense or ask ridiculous questions?
If my livestock, or my family were being marauded, then I'd gladly kill one, however, unless either of those highly unlikely scenarios were taking place it would be non-issue. I would leave them alone to go out and do their own wolf things and live happy wolf like lives in the forest.

Would not hug one for any reason. Have no desire to drive 12 hours to shoot one. If it was knock'n on my door, shoot it cause it is some where it ain't suposed to be. They are just big songdogs. Bout as useless, only bigger fan club.

I would rather snatch it up by the tail and give it a good shitkickin'.
Then I would transfer it to the city and leave it their for them to figure out how to deal with without the help of a hunter or another predator.
That would insure they dont want to hug it as much.

Depends.
Is the wolf minding his own business out in the sticks or is he screwing with my animals? Is he injured?
