I am in the process of buying my first AR. I have been looking and am wondering about the barrel options. Please give some insight on chrome lined vs stainless vs non lined barrels. I am intrested in accuracy, and barrel life. Also if any of you have any optics ideas for a target/varmint rifle, let me know. What do you think about the super sniper optics line. The rifle's I am looking at are in the Bushmaster and DPMS line. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Chevy Trailblazer SUV, and I'm thinking about buying a pop-up (folding) camper. We would like to take our bicycles with us when we go camping. I currently use a bike carrier that mounts to my trailer hitch. So - if I connect the camper to my trailer hitch, what's the best way to haul the bicycles? They don't fit in the back of the SUV, and I DON'T want to put them on the roof of the SUV. Does the camper have a trailer hitch in the back?

Hello. I am wanting a new deer hunting rifle. I was wanting a NEF. I was mostly interested in the 270 and 25-06. (but im open to any suggestions) I would like to know how they shoot if you have shot one or know somebody who owns one or you own one, please give me all the feedback about it you have. I have read mixed reviews but most of them were positive. I hunt whitetail mostly in the woods. sometimes in an old road or open area. please just tell me what you think about NEF, a 25-06 and a 270. Which one do you think would be better for whitetail deer? O ya, dont tell me that NEF doesnt have a 25-06, because they do. Which one do you think is a better deer gun? 25-06 or 270???

Once a year I make a habit to buy a knife for my collection of them (most of them are either old past downs from my Dad or are just cheap "Frost Cutlery brand" knifes!) and so when I went to the flea market for $70.00 there was a guy trying to sell me a K-Bar. But I didn't get it but instead got a cheap Frost Cutlery $20.00 knife set (2 knifes in all)!

I know that K-Bar's are a real quality knife (perfect for gutting deer!) that the military uses but for that kind of money I want the real K-Bar, not a cheap made in China replica.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

I'm going deep sea fishing soon, and they provide bait, like clam and crab, but what should I use for the best results?

I use a Browning 7mm Remington Mag out in Colorado on elk hunts. It has a stainless steel barrel and a fiberglass stock. I get really upset when a branch or my binoculars hit the stock and make noise. I would imagine the glare off the barrel would alert wildlife of my presence as well. I want something to put on the barrel and stock that will reduce glare and noise. Whatever the product is, it needs to be lightweight, will not build up moisture between itself and the gun, and can be removed easily. Anyone know of a product that fits my description?

I shoot at a range that is only intended for pellet guns and .22's due to limited space. In fact, indoors, we can only use pellet guns. Many of our members and visitors are families and young adults.
We are making several groups, male/female, adult/jr/sr, sporting rifle/precision rifle, sporting pistol/precision pistol, .22 rifle and .22 pistol. We may have classes for sporting arms with and without scopes.
That's a ton of categories. We are thinking ribbons for all places 1, 2, 3 and honorable mention. We are thinking t-shirts for every entrant. Maybe some small gift certificates? If you've done things like this before, maybe with the 4-H, what did you award?

We're located a few miles from South Padre Island, Tx...anyone have experience with the migration patterns of this fish in this spot? because anyone thats fished for them before know that you catch them (if you're good!) one right after the other...i was just wondering when the season started, since last year was my first time with this type of fish, but i caught the season near its end.....

I live in New York City and don't like the idea of throwing something back that I could instead be throwing onto my grill or at least cutting up to save on bait. Where are the best/closest catch & keep fishing locations in or around New York City?

That is the link to the latest story I found. What happen is some cops decided to shoot a rat snake, didn't check where they were, and ended up killing a five-year-old little boy. This makes me sick on so many different levels. Don't they teach cops basic gun safety? Don't they know the basic rule of what comes up must come down? If they just HAD to kill a harmless snake, why didn't they use the shot gun in their trunk? What would possess anyone to try to shoot a snake with a 40 cal handgun?!?! Four grown men at this scene, and not a half a brain to be found? My 15 year old would know better!! Still no release of names of the cops, good thing it wasn't a private citizen. So much wrong with this whole thing, why hasn't there been a huge public out-cry? Any thoughts from others?

My father has a reproduction of a Steyr Mannlicher M95 that I would like to take out and shoot for fun. I do not know if it has ever been fired, my father told me he got it at a gun show and has never fired it himself. I am no expert but it seems to be working, all the parts move smoothly and look solid, and the barrel looks strait and clear. What do I need to do to make sure it is in working order and around how much will it cost?

I had a chance this weekend to play with a few 17HMRs at a local hunting outfitter. I compared the Savage, Marlin, Remington, Henry, and Ruger models side by side. The Ruger is my first choice and the most expensive. Around $509.00....... The Savage and Remington models were a far second.

I like the 'controlled feed' of the Ruger. If you chamber a round, drop the magazine and open the bolt.....................the bolt 'holds' the round in place all the way to the extractor.
Not to mention the flawless and flush-to-stock Ruger rotary magazine. It makes it nice to be able to carry the rifle at its balance point (unlike my Marlin 25MN in .22 Mag).
Do you agree that the Ruger is superior to the other rifles?
