I'm going deep sea fishing soon, and they provide bait, like clam and crab, but what should I use for the best results?

For sea bass - clam strips.
For bluefish - cut bait - cut mackerel, bunker (menhaden) or herring.

For sea bass you could also use squid and spearing. For bluefish you could also use spearing. But with cut bait you'll catch bigger bluefish.

If your going on a charter(30-50 people)more than likely they will give you cut squid, which can catch you a live bait called a b-liner which you can re hook and put on the bottom to catch bigger fish like grouper(yum). Good luck

I would use a hair jig with strips of squid or cigar minnows!
Run from your main line a swivel to a 30" fluorocarbon bite leader tied to your jig n strip bait!
Shrimp,small crabs,small bait fish,clams.......!
