Yes if legal in your state to use in that poundage range it is more tah enough to take a turkey cleanly or whiteteil deer!

In several states a 40# bow is legal for deer hunting.
So I would say yes.
But you need to check the hunting regulations in your state just to be safe, all states are different.

Itll go right through it normally. Take in mind, it isnt the best at 40-50 yards though. check state regulations, my state, the legal draw weight is 45 lbs.

I would recommend as long as you are getting a bow go with nothing less than 45# or 47#*..
