Outdoor Recreation - December 2006

I am going backpacking. I will be doing some hiking in warm weather and ideally, I do not want to bring hiking boots with me. Will Chacos or Keens be good for this? Which is better? Are there other sandals that are good to look at as well?

i love the outdoors hiking/camping and my dream job is to get paid to take people out on hikes show them the woods and go camping the whole nine yards. the problem is i have been tring to figure out if there is even jobs like this avalible and what qualifications i need. i already know some of the basic obivious qualifications and have most of them, or am able to get them. but i need to know if there is like a school i have to go to or anything, and where would be the best place to seek employment. this is my dream job so please help me out if you can. i really apreaciate it.

I am an Atheist who loves to learn about religion as ironic as this sounds.... I was looking up the Mormon Catholic (latter day saints) religion and had extreme difficulties finding what sect it was.... I went on Wikipedia, Dictionary.com, hyperdictionary.com.... I went to a lot of places yet could not find it....

Along with this could you also provide information about them.... Their beliefs.... customs..... so on and so forth

I need 'qualified' advice on good and affordable pistols for recreational shooting as well as concealed carry, so something fairly light and compact. Anything from 380, 9mm and 40 caliber. I can't spend the $ on a Glock,etc, but want something reliable. Please only answer from experience. Also need ideas on how to look for used PD weapons. Thanks for your help. I currently use a 38 revolver and a 9mm semi auto which is too large and heavy for ccw.

My son is 12 and is just starting out learning how to fish. Being that I am a woman, he tends not to listen to what I have to say, therefore I am leaving this question to, as he puts it, "the experts". He has a small pond near his home in Ohio. He usually fishes with worms, and has just gotten a set of jigs for Christmas. All he catches usually is Blue Gill. He has not had a chance to use his jigs yet. Anyhow, he knows that there are Bass in ther and wants to know how to lure them in, and what baits, lures, jigs etc to use. He wants to build a basic tackle box and has no idea what to start with. Can anyone help, since he won't listen to me, who has been fishing for over 20 years?

we are going camping in the summer, with our 2 young sons, all i have so far is the frame tent, a lantern (will need more) and some airbeds and sleeping bags. fold up chairs and table, can anyone help with my list of stuff to get as its hard trying to think what we'll need. i know we need an elec hook up and a cooker, anything that i could easily forget, from any experiencd campers. oh yea were taking the dog aswell!

If you do, I was wondering if you could conduct a quick test for me. I own one but its at my other house, and cant get it right now, I am going airsofting tomorrow and need my velocity to be under 300. At Airsoft CQB (the place im going) their chrono test is; if the bb penatrates 1 side of a soda can its <300 but if i goes through both, its >300. I was wondering if anyone could do this test for me, and see if I am able to use it tomorrow. Thanks.
