DO THIS: TAKE A CARTRIDGE AND CAREFULLY MAKE A LIGHT AND CIRCULAR CUT AROUND IT (DON´T CUT IT AT ALL), JUST WHERE SEPARATOR ENDS.... THE RESULT IS INCREDIBLE¡¡

(THIS TECNIQUE WAS USED BY E.T.A.)

P.D. DON´T USE THIS ON A GUN WITH CHOKE TUBE !!!

None of the above, unless you plan on getting a 20" barrel extension and using the hottest slug-load made to man, you will not find a shotgun which would be effective at 200 yards, no matter what the manufacturer.
You did not say what model Mossberg. I have an 835 with barrel combo. With the rifled slug barrel, 3 1/2" slugs, and quite a bit of sighting in I would feel confident enough to use it at maybe 125 yards but beyond 150 I would expect that even compensating for the enormous drop it would have lost too much velocity to be reliably effective.
To better assist you with your question I would suggest investing in a rifled slug barrel and a box or four of Remington Buckhammer.

Pay no attention to the people calling you crazy. Hornady SST sabot slugs will shoot a 2 inch shot group at 200 yards with only a few inches of drop from a 100 yard zero. Thre round is a .50 caliber hollowpoint sabot, fired at 2000 feet per second. The only hitch is you'll need to get a rifled barrel for that mossberg to fire the sabot round accurately, and also at 200 yards if you want to hit anything you'll need either a good set of sights or a scope.

Do yourself a favor and forget getting a new barrel for the Mossberg. Get a bolt-action rifled slug gun and shoot some premium sabots like Winchester Supreme Partitions or the Hornady SST or the Remington Copper Solids. In my experience, sighted at 2 inches high at 50 yards will put these loads dead zero at 100. You will definitely have to practice, practice, practice to get proficient at 175 to 200 yards. You owe that to the game you are hunting.

Uhhh for that distance, forget the shotgun and get a rifle. I'd hate to imagine what the drop of a 12 gauge slug is at 200 yards. As for shooting shot, forget about it - 000 buck may carry, but you won't be hitting where you're looking.

At 200 yards you need a rifle. If you are shooting birds, do the birds a favor and bring them in closer before you take the shot.

You aint gonna get a 12 gauge to shot 200 yards, if you know that little you'r not safe to own that gun.

Get a new barrel to shoot slugs or get real. A good full choke goose gun will maybe get 100 yards.

get a barrel extension and a farely light sabot slug. also get a tight choke but you're not going to shoot pellets 200 yards, why would you need to?

if you are shooting birds, hang it up...if you're wanting to shoot deer, you want to go with a slug barrell and with the new sabot slugs available you will be as accurate as a high powered rifle
