I am going backpacking. I will be doing some hiking in warm weather and ideally, I do not want to bring hiking boots with me. Will Chacos or Keens be good for this? Which is better? Are there other sandals that are good to look at as well?

Chacos are good if you will be crossing creeks/marshy areas.
Keens are good if you are above the tree line because they keep out rocks better.

Personally, I use Chacos because they dry quickly, they can clip to the outside of a pack, easy to slip on, great in the water!

keens will protect your toes better if you're not used to going barefoot or wearing sandals at all....
chacos will be more light weight and will dry a lot quicker than keens... both are good for forging river crossings...
personally, i think that a good pair of fitting chacos are more comfortable than keens any day...
