A good quality brand hollow-tip ammo. I just wouldn't use anything but Long Rifle and I would stay away from the Remington subsonic for coyote. Keep your shots close and accurate and a .22 should work just fine on coyote.

Any high-velocity .22 ammo will do, because if you are that close to the coyote when you shoot, aim for the head. In my opinion, a .243 or .25-06 is about as good as it gets for putting down coyotes close or far.

If you really want to use a 22 use a 22 magnum, but I'd go with something a little stronger like a 30/30 or a 20 gauge slug.

Do not use rimfire ammo. If you want a .22 caliber cartridge, go with something like a .223 or a .22-250.

The person who recommended the 22.250 was right on, but if you have either a .243, 6mm or 25.06 (using varmint loads, i.e. 87 gr) lying around, any of these will do the job.
