It depends on the situation.
For shock & awe effect and pure stopping power, I prefer the Colt Python .357 Magnum handgun with a 4 inch barrel. The 6 or 8 inch models do not fit in my purse. It's a little hard for me to fire because I am only 4' 10" and 96 lbs, but the Python gets the job done. Use copper-jacketed hollow points for maximum damage.
In close combat situations, I like the Sig Hauer P245 .45 ACP Autoloader. While it only allows 6 rounds in the clip and one chambered, I employ an extended 14 round clip when needed.
I'm a big Sig fan, so the Sig Hauer SG 551-SWAT (Sturmgewehr) is my first choice in modern assault rifles. It is light, versatile and extremely accurate. The rear sight is like those found on HK rifles and is adjustable for windage and elevation. A universal scope mount is available that accepts a wide range of sighting aids such as night-vision equipment, Trijicon ACOGs and other STANAG-based optics without the need for special tools or adapters. A universal fitting on the foresight mount accepts special equipment such as bipods or laser sighting aids.
Of course for sheer reliability, nothing beats Mikhail Kalashnikov's popular AK-47 model. There have been only 8 minor changes since Kalashnikov designed the marvelous weapon in 1947.
It is hard to improve perfection.
You can drop it in water or remove the inspection plate and throw in some sand, then shake it out and it will still fire. It is a pleasure to own one.
I'm hoping they will start manufacturing DU (depleted uranium) rounds for use by civilian gun enthusiasts. You know... for home protection against armored vehicles.

Crosman 1377 pneumatic multi-pump, single shot .177 pellet gun. Still made in the USA. One of the longest running production airguns, it can be traced back 50 years. The basic gun costs 50.00. Out of the box, it is suitable for target shooting. From there, you can add wood grips for a classic look. You can also add a shoulder stock and turn it into a carbine. The rear sight blade is open on top and a peep sight on the bottom. You can get an inexpensive scope.
You can have the gun modified for serious target shooting.
It has no recoil. You can vary the number of pumps and thus control the velocity. It shoots lead pellets, which are very inexpensive.
I have target ranges in my basement and outdoors.

I have to agree with Miss Tofu on her Colt Python choice. Although I like the six incher with the Colt Royal blue finish better. Sig makes a good pistol, but Glock works well for me as a service automatic.
I love my Ruger #1 in .458 Winchester magnum, but my old Remington 700 ADL in .25-06 is hard to beat as a Whitetail deer rifle. The Steyr Mannlicher Pro Hunter in .30-06 is a great all around gun for hunting in North America and the Remington 870 12 guage pump is an excellent all around shotgun.
Best,

A Mechem NTW-20.Or maybe a Steyr IWS2000.
By the way,a bazooka is not a gun and an sks is not an assault rifle.

I prefer spring powered airsoft rifles and pistols myself. They're cheap, safe, and fun as hell to shoot. I have an M-4 Carbine, MAC-11 Submachinegun, M9 Beretta Pistol, Sig Sauer P228 Pistol, and a Glock 26 Pistol (All are spring powered airsoft guns of course).

The p90 is a tough weapon, but ammo is expensive. I like to snuggle up with my AR15 and my Kimber TLE .45. They treat Mama well. I love my boys.
