In the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, two cars both veer over the white line in the center of the road. They collide and a fair amount of damage is done, although neither occupant is hurt. It is impossible to assess blame for the accident.

Both the drivers get out of their car. One was Sir Dave and the other was Faisal.Dave calls the police from his mobile phone and goes over to talk to Faisal.

It’s cold and damp, and both men are quite shaken up at the accident. Dave offers the Faisal a drink of strong brandy from his hip flask.

“Why, thank you,” the Faisal accepts. He takes a few swigs and hands it back to the Dave, who puts it away. “Aren’t you also going to have a drink?” Faisal asks.

“Yes. After the police get here.” replies Dave

How about cricket-style central contracts for the core of the team? It turned the England cricket from a woeful team to a pretty good one.

I couldn't believe that England is out of Euro 2008. Thank for S.McClaren. At first the formation was wrong! He shouldn't played Crouch as a lone striker (How many games has he played for Liverpool this season) and Carson (Lack of experience) should be replaced by David James in goal!

He even refused to resign after the game! But according to football news that he will be sacked this morning.

I have not interest in watch the rest of the Euro 2008 matches.
PLease show your opinion.

Or should England stick with McClaren instead?

It was always on the cards after a dismal run of form but who is to blame?McClaren or the team or is it that they were just not good enough.

Is this the modern way of England? Or is Englands "modern" days over? Will England become a team like.... Scotland or Wales? Is Englands reputation of "one of the best teams in Europe" over?

2 years ago, The Sun tricked the then England manager Sven Goran Eriksson. They dressed a reporter up as an arab sheikh and plied the England manager with drinks. Then they got him on tape making a number of boasts and revelations.

When these were reported in the News of the World (the Sunday version of The Sun), the English FA quickly responded by announcing that Eriksson would stepping down as England manager.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article35413.ece

Under Sven, England were the only European team, apart from Sweden, to reach the quarter finals in the 2002 & 2006 World Cups and the 2004 European Championships. He led England to a 5-1 over Germany in Germany and improved England's rating in the FiFA standings from 17th to 5th.

If it wasn't for the News of the World then maybe Sven would still have been in charge and England wouldn't be "having the summer off".

OR... do we go ahead and hire the services of Jose Mourinho? There have been many mentions on English today of J Mourinho taking over the national team !! If he does, the first thing he will do is fire the entire national team and hire younger blood thirsty for success who are not yet skpoiled by questions like "SHALL I BUY A FERRARI THIS WEEKEND OR... WHAT ?!
It is pretty obvious to me that neither manager nor his players are any good and the sooner we start realising that our players are not talented and a waste of time the sooner we'll start preparing a good team to represent us in the 2008-World Cup. Otherwise the humiliating performances will just continue. English fans deserve better.
What do you think ?

Despite his age, he always comes through when england needs him most, unlike Lampard and Gerrard... Also, do you think he should be a part of the 2010 squad (assuming they qualify)

..Playin 1 upfront in the first half ...Choosing a rookie keeper for a match of such importance..And then disgracefully leaving before the players..I definately think he doesn't deserve to be england manager ..Do You?

Croatia, you played a great game. MJ was wrong, you did win at Wembley!

Russia- Congratulations for qualifying. Who was the best player for England tonight? I think it was Peter Crouch and the rest were below average.

Thank You and who should i support in Euro now, Scotland are out too so i can't support them!
