Academies. Are these youngsters disheartened when their managers opt for big names from abroad.

Do you think they played any better or was it the same old rubbish? I thought Robinson was much improved and Jenas had an outstanding game but as for the rest I wasnt overly impressed as usual. A draw is a better result than losing again, but it still wasnt a good perfrmance. Have I got it all wrong? was i watching a different game to the one you saw? were there any other positives what is your opinion?

I was at the match but would like to know the song played at the end of coverage. The Beeb usually choose a song that reflects the mood of the nation.

We have time !!! But not that much time !!!
HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO WELL for 2010 ?
Let's have suggestions on radical CHANGE on two fronts:
( 1 ) the MANAGER -- I am petrified of having some second rate manager put in charge and we will all be angry again in one year's time with the likes of Alan Shears (no, please, no Alan Shear!). If not Mourinho (he turned the job down) nor Scholari (who did the same)... then WHO ?! Please not another copy of Keegan.Remember Euro2000(?)
( 2 ) PLAYERS -- Please be a manager. Be a Mourinho or a Scholari and ignore the present players. Bring in your knowledge of YOUNGER less known players. (eg. look at the Portugal team... young... No more Figo... so please forget about Beckham.)
I will read your comments analysis and remarks with great intrest. Thanks

We always talk about C Ronaldo, Ronaldinho... and they are great but I have been keeping an eye on this young Portuguese Quaresma.... That guy is a genius. I call C. Ronaldo BRILLIANT but Portugal seem to just keep on producing genius after genius of football. This guy Quaresma is the only player I know who dribbles, lightening speed, with his HEELS ! Do you guys know this guy? I saw him in action in several videos in YouTube. Go to Yu-Tube and serch QUARESMA, sit back and BE AMAZED.
Thanks.

On saturday, my soccer team is supposed to play a team 2 years younger than us. None of the good players on my team are going to be there, and we might not even have a goalie. If i don't score in that game, i will be ruined. What should i do, should i stay home? Should i go? I don't know

I believe it would be good for the England team to have a black manager because this would create political and social harmony throughout our nations. The FA have been accused of racism in the past, and if they were to consider a black manager for the post it would be timely for the next World Cup in South Africa. We all know the racial history of that country and the imprisoning of Nelson Mandela. It would also give the FA better credence when dealing with other matters relating to football clubs.

Is it just me or is the england national team seriously overatted england are not a great team simple. Sven was sacked because he couldnt get england beyond the quater finals but come on it was england. I admit Mclaren had to go but i fear that no manager would want to take over a team with unrealisticly high expectations with overratted players like crouch, lampard and BECKHAM.

After this week's performance when will England being rubbish at sports in general, but particularly the beloved national game of football? Yeah, sure there are flashes in the pan but generally they are rubbish. This year we have seen England lose in the RWC final, England not qualify for Euro 2008, an Englishman not win Wimbledon yet again, Lewis Hamilton not take the World Title.... etc
Is it not time, 41 years after 1966 and all that and 30 years (?) after Wimbledon success, and only two ashes series in 20 odd years plus one RWC in 20 years...... that they wake up? The policy of sport for all, non-competitiveness at school etc etc makes me think the English do not have a "killer/winner" instinct.... Added to this, 60% of the Premier League is not English and no one wants to be England manager, the most likely candidate being an Italian who cannot speak English..... sorry days for England! Any thoughts?
PS I am not a gloating Scot or Aussie, I am just trying to be objective!!!
