I think that Ronaldo came as close as you can get to another Pele. If he never got injuried during his prime he might have reached the greatness of Pele.
To answer your question I dont think its going to happen any time soon. Maybe 10 years after Pele dies someone will come close but dont be suprised if it never happens. What he did in soccer is hard to duplicate. Just like there wont be another Mike there wont be another Pele. If another Pele does come there is no doubt he will be Brasilian!

No next Pele. It will be after a hundred years probably or not at all. His era was kind different. Hence, we will never have another Pele to be sure. I suspect soccer format will soon change since FIFA is always experimenting with the game like when they brought this golden goal thing which eliminated Paraguay from 2002 world cup.
Today they have this practice whereby players enter the field escorted by young kids who are in the main remain invisible as officials shake hands with players. The kids then scamper like mice from the field without any order! I am sure FIFA will soon realize the idiocy of this show and eliminate it. But they will come with another ill creativity, enforce it for a few years then eliminate it. The point am trying to make is that with soccer rules and format changing every four years, there might never be another Pele. Fifa once toyed with expanding goal-posts literally so that more goals could be scored. They may revive the idea again and some player may equal Pele's number of goals. But those may just be pretenders to the crown. Long live Pele. Long live the king!!

messi is the next best world player and compare pele skills with the skills that players have now not much of competition pele was a great player but now ther are players of the greatest qualitiy in football then they have ever been the game is more organized and some player are basically machines build for football what im trying to say is that the football level is way higher then that of when pele was playing ( ronaldinho has been the best player so far after maradona and pele personally i think that ronaldinho skill was greater then pele even though ronaldinho plays midfield he is a pretty amazing forward that can change a team chances of winning dramatically )

Just wait until South Afrrica. I think that Lionel Messi will really stand up for Argentina and Robinho will be the key player for Brazil. Also Scott McDonald (Australian playing for Celtic) could become a superstar if he keeps up his current form!!

i think ronaldo luis nazario de lima could or can do that only on his working hard! soccer requires heart in the game... a players intention should be to sacrifice his life for football....
ronaldo is old but still nothing is impossible in football..once a player is able to read opponents mind and has a lot of experience he could be the best!!!
