I'm against racism and positive racism, also there's only one black manager I can think of and Paul Ince isn't ready.

If you want to recruit an Englishman, then you don't have much raw material to choose from. You want someone who had decent playing experience - Graham Taylor and Steve McLaren lacked this, and they both failed to qualify, unlike former internationals Venables, Keegan and Hoddle.
If you assume they'll be roughly as old as McLaren, they'll have been playing in the early eighties when black footballers were only just becoming a regular sight in English top-flight football (Laurie Cunningham was the first black player to play in a competitive fixture for England in 1979).
Very few of the "first generation" entered management - possibly because of racism, or possibly simply because there were so few of them and a low percentage of all players enters management. Viv Anderson stuttered and withdrew into coaching, John Barnes crashed and burned at Celtic.
England will one day have a black English manager - Paul Ince is the only serious candidate at the moment, but look at the makeup of the team today and it's inevitable. But it HAS to be on merit. After all, you wouldn't argue (would you?) that in order to "create political and social harmony", the England team be restricted to no more than one black player at a time, because they are only about 2.3% of the population?

If we can find a credible black manager who is clearly the best candidate (and stupid enough to take it) then of course!
But we should not set out to specifically recruit a black manager. Football should be kept very apolitical, and the world cup taking place in South Africa should have no impact on the choice of manager.
I can only really think of Jean Tigana in terms of top-flight credible black managers with European experience, and I don't think he'd be that interested.

There are plenty of black pundits, but very few black managers. The only English ones I can think of are Paul Ince and Leroy Rosenior. Neither is likely to be a candidate.
It's a question of finding someone who will do the job, not about making an empty political statement.

I am a black man from America. I do not think you are having an 'attitude' at all. However, I also think England, just like any other civil country, should hire the most QUALIFIED manager. Race, or anything else should not even be an issue. As long as they are good.

I would not wish such a curse on any black man yellow man, brown man or white man.
The FA should simply ask the manager of the leading premiership team of the day, to pick the team, PERIOD.
As to the finer attributes of tactics.. they should ask any chimp to be found at London Zoo.

As with anything to do with recruitment these days, the ideal candidate should be a black, gay, handicapped, muslim. To appoint a white Englishman to be the England manager would just be ludicrous!!!
P.S: Couldn't we just persuade Jose Mourhino to rub some boot polish in his face?

Oh I see! ...So..not picking a black manager of the England team would be racist would it? ...How ridiculous!
Your theory is so wide of the mark it beggars belief!!!!
If he happens to be black and can do the job well, then all well and good.
It should be about their managerial ability and aptitude, not their skin colour......and besides, what about Hope Powell, the England Women's Team Manager?

I don't think it should matter what colour the next manager is, The most important thing is that he has the skills and can do a good job.

You can create "political and social harmony throughout the nations" whatever colour you are - it's whether you're good at managing the team and whether you;re willing to integrate with people from other nations, whatever your colour.
i don't think you should be the next manager, with that attitude.
