We have time !!! But not that much time !!!
HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO WELL for 2010 ?
Let's have suggestions on radical CHANGE on two fronts:
( 1 ) the MANAGER -- I am petrified of having some second rate manager put in charge and we will all be angry again in one year's time with the likes of Alan Shears (no, please, no Alan Shear!). If not Mourinho (he turned the job down) nor Scholari (who did the same)... then WHO ?! Please not another copy of Keegan.Remember Euro2000(?)
( 2 ) PLAYERS -- Please be a manager. Be a Mourinho or a Scholari and ignore the present players. Bring in your knowledge of YOUNGER less known players. (eg. look at the Portugal team... young... No more Figo... so please forget about Beckham.)
I will read your comments analysis and remarks with great intrest. Thanks

" quutamo " -- I like your choice of manager, Wenger now that Mourinho doesnot want the job.
We have to be radical, positive and dispassionate if we want to prepare ourselves properly for what's ahead.

" john w " -- Stuart Pearce.... What a choice. What a better manager for 2010 who KNOWS all top under 21s, who has experience of internatinals,,, and who HAS PROVES HIMSELF than S.Pearce. After Mourinho I would go for Stuart Pearce. If they don't go to him they don't want England to do well.

We must have a manager with international management experience, we must have a manager who is not afraid to tell the players what he thinks of them, we must have a manager who knows about success, we need a man lkie Stuart Pearce, but of course he is not really going to be offered the job is he? He just may be a little too strong for the FA to control, he has already had some successwith the under 21s. as for the team, well i seriously think that we should start selecting from the championship not the premiership, let them show us what passion is all about. take care and good luck.

i heard that for the qualifiers, we mite take manuel almunia of arsenal to b one of our goalkeepers as he has never represented spain in any level =D
manager for me would probs be like capello, wenger or someone who has pretty done well in each and every level of football, i.e. grassroots, academy, first team club and first team international and very well respected and looks to the future
for the players, we do need beckham for at least 2008/9, hes probably the most passionate player in the current line-up that is passionate to play for england in my view. this is becasue he inspires the team wen he plays and motivates them to go up a gear. the best way forward in my view is a slow transition of more young and less experiened and old players =]

Youngsters is the way to go. Keeping faith with has-beens like Beckham is not the way to move forward. He plays in America, where players go to artificially extend their careers when it would otherwise be over. Anyone who will be too old to be at the next world cup needs to be dropped right now.

Younger ..really hungry, motivated players is the way for this team to step it up. Forget Beckham..just a pretty face & seems to have lost his passion.

best way to get good footballers - stop turning them into over hyped celebrities, stop their stupid pay, we need people passionate about footballl not money! i know its not the players fault they are paid this way but it has ruined our game, and also they are meant to be sportsmen, someone should tell them to stop turning their backs when someone tries to help them get up after a tackle, how pathetic
