I hope so.....play a patsy, shedule, then go around bragging that you are #1, just cause the teams that were ahead of you actuall tried to EARN their ranking. Don't get me wrong...I think Tressel is a great coach...the Defense looks good, but the offense, I'm not sold on. The One time this season they face a decent defense (Purdue...and note I said decent, not great...Boeckman throws 3 interceptions.)

The other games...they should have dominated. Do you reward a team for beating teams they should? Kent, Akron, YOungstown?,,,Please..... I would respect their ranking...like I did last season, if they would just EARN it. The only two decent teams on the whole schedule are Penn and Michigan...and both are shadows of their former self.

Or to put it another way...If my poor , Benighted, pathetic, Fighting Irish (and I would agree they suck) played that schedule...they would go 8-4 this season...losing to Purdue, Penn, Michigan St and Michigan. that is a weak schedule.

"South Florida" is a hour west of UCF so in reality it should be Western Florida or something like that

Boston College has the week off, so the #3 Eagles are a lock to replace South Florida at #2. Will Ohio State also lose, catapulting Boston College into the #1 ranking?

The NFL is considering moving the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl. If they do that, it would lead to the players on the Super Bowl teams not participating. So, if they're going to do that, why not require the Super Bowl to be played at the home field of the team representing the winning conference, much like baseball now does with its All Star Game?

I mean seriously, the Big East? They get beat by Rutgers! And now Cincinnati is supposed to be a great team? Come on!

I was really impressed with the pressure that Rutgers got on Groethe in the second half.

That...and Ray Rice is a very hard runner.

I don't really think I have to remind you of their beginning of the season (at home lost to Appalachian state and routed by Oregon)

it's not like Rutgers was good and had a heisman contender on their team. losing 30-27 on the road doesn't sound overrated to me.

If we eliminate all the bowl games it would hurt college football, but if we need to start having a clear cut national champ. First we start the bowl games as normal, but when the BCS bowls start have the top 8 teams play in the Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Rose Bowl then the next week the final four play where ever the national championship is held then the winners of those two games play for the title. This system would gave us a playoff and keep the BCS bowl games if a playoff was made for the national title in college football it would bring a lot more passion in the BCS bowl games.
