They will have to run the table to do it.
I think they will lose 2 more games.
Saturday against Illinois, and the last game against Ohio State.

Beating Ohio State wouldn't hurt. And it would help my Gators, so all the power to you. I am still hopeful that the Gators can hit the number 2 spot, beating an 8 and a 6 team in the next two weeks, Boston College losing, and beating LSU in the SEC Championship. Anything seems possible the way things are going now. It should be an exciting end of the season, and a good chance for Michigan to prove how good they really are.
I should add... Michigan had a rocky start to the season, but they definitely deserve a top 5 ranking, should they win out.

I don't really see it happening. It would take some key losses week in and week out from other contending teams along with Michigan running the table the rest of the way. Not a likely scenario. Then again, this season has seen crazy things happen so you never know. (BTW, is Mike Hart's knee ok? If not, forget it. Michigan is not moving that ball up the field without him)

Honestly, there is no way they could possibly get that high of a ranking, unless they just absolutely cream everybody they play, and even then it would be iffy.
They are not going to cream everybody, because this Saturday they are playing the tough, resurgent Illinois football team, that is going to give them a lot of trouble. Then they have Ohio State to contend with at the end of the season.
No, I really don't see any way that that could possibly happen.

Even if they win out and destroy the Buckeyes in the final week of the season, they will not make it back to 5th because of their loss to App St and the dismantling handed to them by Oregon.

They'll have to run the table. With all the whackiness going on in college football, you could even see a 2 loss team in the BCS championship game. Never say never.

They have to run the gauntlet in the Big Ten to do so. I hope they do.
