They really do need to do something, and being that NFL is now Americas Pastime, it might not be such a bad idea to follow in their footsteps as far as some of the ways people express themselves.
A good example would be the Manny Ramirez home run a couple of nights ago, when he stood there and admired his HR, the baseball traditionist had kittens about this. In the NFL people celebrate all of the time (yes even when losing) it is part of the games personality and one of the reasons we love it, because there is so much emotion involved.
If the MLB was smart and looking to move toward the future and increasing ratings, they would not only allow these actions but embrace them.

Yes, but what bugs me much more are all the camera shots of people praying. If there truly is a Divine Being, would He really care about the outcome of a baseball game?

It's not as intense as the NFL, so why do it? I don't hear the crowd chanting "Defense!" at a baseball game!

ONLY WHEN THE PHILLIES DO IT!!!!!!!!! As a Mets fan goin to college in Philly, I found that more annoying than any other team doing that.
