If we eliminate all the bowl games it would hurt college football, but if we need to start having a clear cut national champ. First we start the bowl games as normal, but when the BCS bowls start have the top 8 teams play in the Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Rose Bowl then the next week the final four play where ever the national championship is held then the winners of those two games play for the title. This system would gave us a playoff and keep the BCS bowl games if a playoff was made for the national title in college football it would bring a lot more passion in the BCS bowl games.

Eliminate the BCS and let oddsmakers rank the teams. Right now it would look like this ...

1 Ohio State
2 LSU
3 Kansas
4 Arizona State
5 Boston College
6 Oklahoma
7 Oregon
8 Southern Cal
9 Florida
10 South Florida

Force the Big 10, Big 12, PAC 10, Big East, ACC and SEC to play a conference title game! This would be the First round!

As of this moment Big 10, Big East and PAC 10 can have a mess. It is possible for 2 teams to go undefeated in the Big 10!

Next they need to make sure teams that are whatever and 0 have a shot. (Utah, Boise St.) Four spots would be saved for Non-BCS conferences and teams not in the Conference title games! I'd like to see the top 4 rated schools that didn't get into a conference title game play a playoff game! (If you are 12-0 and lose your title game too darn bad you lost shut up!) Maybe a little harsh but at least it was settled on the field!

Basically that gives us a 16 team playoff and first round is early Dec. 2nd round a week later (you could rotate the games like the Final Four does who wouldn't want to get in on that!)

The Final Football 4 could play in the current big bowls (Rose, Orange etc.)

This isn't the answer. BTW "why" do we need a clear cut national champion. the first college football game was played in the 1880's and in 2007 NOW we need a clear cut national title. I like the system the way it is. The bowls are great. If you eliminate the bowls you take away much of what makes college football great. If you want a playoff go watch the FCS. formally 1-AA. App State will be there. So you know one team.

im all for a college football playoff, but the only thing i have against it is that it would take away from the regular season where the teams absolutely have to show up every single week to be national champs. i would still much rather have a playoff system though. the bcs is definitely flawed. why not let the top 8 teams decide who is best on the field

i agree with spartan. teams now play every game as if it were the bcs. and they play there hearts out. your idea would probobly let teams slack and we would see less talented players come out of college football. but its a good idea, but they would never do that..the whole reason for all the bowl games is to make tons of money. remember its a sort of buissiness.

You fans are the ones to have the power to make the changes.
But you would have to sacrifice and boycott watching any of the bowl games this year and make it known that you are doing so. As long as the bowl ratings are high and they make big money nothing will change.
I say boycott watching the bowls and make them change it

You could always accuse the BCS of being racists, then race pimps like jesse jackson and al sharpton would demand the dimantling of the BCS.
