it's not like Rutgers was good and had a heisman contender on their team. losing 30-27 on the road doesn't sound overrated to me.

it's not like they lost to Colorado or stanford

Rutgers was ranked 10 before losing to Maryland and Cincinati... neither of which are slouches this year. Mryland beat some good teams.

Rutgers probably should have been ranked. we will see when they get WVA at home with a bye.

Just gonna pull the above guy's post and shred through it

"A number two ranked team in the nation should be able to soundly defeat an unranked team regardless if they are on the road or at home."

True true true...Can't blame it on the refs, can't blame it on anything...They were in it hte entire game and it all came down to finishing...which USF couldn't do

"Albeit Rutgers is decent, they are not ranked. This justs shows you how weak the Big East is as compared to the PAC and SEC."

On the contrary in my opinion, i think this shows how strong the Big East is...this game was not a blowout in any sense...this was actually one of the best games i've seen all season so far...I think this shows how even that conference is and how much competition there is actually in it...Still don't understand why everyone likes to trash the Big East when in the past few years they've had their fare share of national title implications (not to mention going undefeated in bowls last year)

Rutgers was the better team....period
USF was overrated...i think they should rightfully sit around ten...THey might not *deserve* the top spot but since everyone above them fell, they got it...
In that sense, Ohio State is also *overrated* but again, not their fault that everyone else lost!

Well, I think you partially answered your own question. A number two ranked team in the nation should be able to soundly defeat an unranked team regardless if they are on the road or at home.

Albeit Rutgers is decent, they are not ranked. This justs shows you how weak the Big East is as compared to the PAC and SEC.

Like I've been telling everyone, just let the season pass, you'll have more upsets galore with OSU(sorry guys not this year), and BC. The system for the most part works, and by the end of the season, you'll have the most deserving teams in the top two to three spots (there has to be a little bit of controversy)! For me, I predict LSU and OU going to the BCS. If not OU, then I like Oregon.

USF was never overrated. They were right where they should have been. People have a hard time understanding polls are weekly. Clearly, they are changing each week as teams fall and other teams rise. They were well deserved of the number 2 spot this week... possibly number one (the computers thought so). I don't see them dropping below 9. It was too close of a game for them to drop too far. Plus, Rutgers is becoming famous for beating top teams and spoiling seasons.

Probably, I have a rough time believing that they are that well, peculiarly considering the fact that how they failed to provoke in opposition to a vulnerable opponent the day prior to this. Louisville used to be surely means overestimated, they've no protection to talk of. Their offense is well, typically as well as marketed, however they cannot quit anybody from scoring, and their offense is not designed for ball manage, so they do not particularly deliver their protection a breather. They ought to recruit a few protective men within the low season for definite. They seem like an ancient-university WAC crew.

USF was only favored by a couple of points. They just made too many mistakes, lost their composure, and ran into a determined Rutgers team.

I like USF, they are a pretty good team, but frankly they were overrated. I agree with them being #2 because they managed to win their games, and beat some quality opponents along the way, but they aren't very steady.

No it doesn't. Listen, "fans" are going to honk their teams and diss other teams and conferences. If your on Y!A long enough, you'll read how every team that loses is overrated and every team that is undefeated is lucky and played a soft schedule.

South Florida is a good team and I can't wait till the bowl season to see them against a non-Big East foe.

As long as LSU fan's don't start screaming it, I don't mind too much. It wasn't a terrible loss for the Bulls. As a side note, I hate the "Overrated" chant that always pops up from the crowd in these situations

Sure, because it's true. And people aren't just saying that now; they have been saying it for a long time.

You can't play a bunch of weak teams to the championship. Watch and see what happens to Ohio State to prove that.

Sorry, but some of us have been saying it all week. South Florida can now join Boise State on the Pretenders bench, making sure they leave room for Kansas.
