Football (American) - February 2007

[Selected]: All categories Sports Football (American)

Smith ran for 975 yards in 2002 for the Cowboys and 937 yards in 2004 for the awful Cardinals. George ran for 1031 yards in 2003 for the Titans and 432 yards in 14 games in 2004 for the Cowboys. But it's a good thing Bill Parcels likes big running backs cause i'm sure Emmit could got more done at the end of his career in Big D than George did.

Seriously folks. It amazes me to read all the posts made by soccer fans that diss the MLS. No one ever takes the time to consider that sports such as American Football, Baseball, and Basketball have been around for decades while the MLS has only been here for about 10 years. Do you people truly believe that the premiership was as good as it is today during its beginings?

Let's not forget that MLS has begun to see financial success and can only grow from here on in. With the development of soccer-specific stadiums across the league and the requirement of these stadiums for new teams the league is truly taking ownership of itself.

That's great if your a fan of European Football. Instead of lashing out and dissing American Soccer you should be happy that the sport you love is becoming more and more popular in a country that no one seems to think will accept it.

He ranks 20th out of 30 in the NFL with his Passer Rating (75.7), but was 21st out of 30 in Total Rushing Yards on the season (1039 and the only QB named on the rushing statistic board). He also holds the record for the Highest Average Gain per Game (10 Rushing Attempts), which is a record that is usually bestowed up Running Backs.

So do you keep him as a QB or as a coach do you convert him into a RB?

I'm officially sick of the LT hype. So what if the kid broke the record of most consecutive games with a TD. When you're the only thing your team's got that's probably how it's going to work out. What happened to the idea of Jim Brown, Walter Payton, and Emmitt Smith (among others) being considered for the title of Best Running Back Ever? Am I the only one that feels this way?

Here's the NFL Records website for some reference:
http://www.nfl.com/history/randf

Jim Brown owns 5 records, Emmitt Smith owns 6, and Walter Payton owns 1 and is 2nd to Emmitt Smith in 2 and 2nd to Jim Brown in 1.

I think they should get Greg Olsen-TE-Miami. Big guy who can block but has great speed and hands.

I think he'd be better off with another team. Especially now that his head coach had been fired.

The cold weather played a huge role in that game. Yhe Saints are used to playing in warm weather not snow. But the Bears are used to hot, cold, rain, everything. It wasn't fair at all!
