1. football is violent, guys are naturally attracted to violence it's in our nature

2. it's a sport..self-explanatory

3. we can pick a team and root for them and have rivalries with other guys, make bets etc..and if you're of legal age many use football games as an excuse to eat and drink beer.

4. it's just as fun to play as it is to watch

5. it may be slow but it's in many ways a strategy game and guys like to yell at the tv and stuff like you should have picked a different play or something. you can't do that with basketball or other sports, they don't have the same plays.

6...did i mention it's violent? lol

1. Action. I do enjoy watching great athletes going full speed and hitting one another.

2. Teamplay - it is great to watch a group of eleven men work together to stop a run, break up a pass, or make a great play. There is a lot of strategy involved.

3. Football is very much like war, without the weapons. Gain ground, hold your ground, don't give up the last yards. It's rather fascinating. The comedian George Carlin did a sketch about the differences in terminology between football and baseball. Football is all about using tough concepts, like Gridiron, Red Zone, Blitz, etc. In baseball, you get to "Go Home."

4. Atmosphere - Going to a football game is a fun time when we can scream, yell, and have a great time. There is nothing like being on a college campus on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It's rather magical, actually.

5. Talking trash to other team's fans. We love to talk smack to other guys about how horrible their team is.

6. I actually loved playing football and knocking some guy right on his butt.

If you have to ask, you just don’t get it.

Football is a game of courage, strategy, and determination. It is a positive way to channel male aggressiveness into social acceptable behavior.

If you want proof that football can have a positive impact, see the movie “Grid Iron Gang”.

Stop stereotyping!!! I'm a woman and I love football. If you took time out and learned the rules of the game, picked a fave team, etc., you might like it too.

We like it because most women don't (like you). It's our "OUR" time. Lord knows women are always griping about their "ME" time. Get used to it and give us some space also. Go to the kitchen, grab us a six pack, then head on out and go to the spa for a few hours. Thank you for your patience.

I have wondered that all my life. I'm a guy and I am just as masculine as the next but I have never got my exercise vicariously. I would rather be doing something than watching some one else do it. I'm not into any spectator sports.
