Dan Patrick (ESPN) referred to the Chargers as the "Clampetts" of the NFL, making reference to the Spanos family as hillbillies. They fired a guy who has over 200 wins in the NFL one month after their season ended, and who has won everywhere he coached.

Now, because it took them so long, all the hot coaching prospects are GONE for this year.

I'm a Colts fan, and I can tell you we did not want to go to San Diego and play against Marty's team in the playoffs. He owned the Colts the last couple of years. Now, the Chargers will be in rebuilding mode again. Good for us Colts fans, bad for the Chargers fans out there.

I hate to assert it, yet definite. he's only too set in his ideas. At this aspect is only a parent head. He does no longer placed on a headset. How does he provide enter? As a head coach you may not do this. i replaced into blown away that they lost an identical way they lost the Jets pastime in 2004. I bear in mind even as he had the large variety a million seed in KC and made an identical blunders. He only can not enable pass of Marty Ball. It replaced into glaring they made no 1/2 time modifications in the course of the game. i'm no longer a pro NFL participant. I did play in college and that i even recognize that the matchups were no longer operating. He had a pastime plan that he only refused to regulate for. The Patriots were in a position as an example the weak point with the blitz and the corners were getting uncovered. the middle of the container replaced into huge open and that confirmed the Patriots the position to pass. Why in the global when you intercept the ball attempt to run with it once you're coated? stupid consequences, the communities thoughts were too severe and Marty because the instructor did not ring them in and regain their concentration. there replaced into negative clock administration in the 4th quarter. finally it falls on the instructor. Marty did not do adequate to enable his crew win. by technique of no longer kicking the container objective. He did not provide the Chargers a danger to win. With 14-2 record and residential container benefit waiting. it really is inexcusable. no less than he must have received that pastime. i have self assurance if he a minimum of received that pastime human beings and administration might want to have forgiven him. As a Charger fan i visit not in any respect forgive him for that absolute crap of a pastime plan. the guy desires to pass and he desires to retire and stay retired. i'm desirous about giving Cam a shot. I only wish he does no longer instruct to be like the St. Louis Rams experienced with Mike Martz. large coordinator yet no longer an excellent head coach. Norv Turner an identical way. you in elementary words not in any respect recognize? i imagine the Chargers should be ill to imagine of each and every of the what that's. the base line is Marty replaced into out coached on each and every aspect. understanding the Spanos kinfolk they received't fireplace him. he will step down after a million more desirable 365 days and could in all danger retire or pass into television or Radio. Cam or possibly Cowher often is the subsequent Chargers coach in 08.

All depends on whether or not they want to win in the playoffs. Schottenhiemer has always been great in the regular season but his teams crumble in the playoffs. He had some great teams in Cleveland and Kansas City, but they couldn't win in the playoffs. In this years game they would get a good gain on first with a run and then throw 2 passes and punt when they had the lead. If they had just kept running they may have won and kept his job.

No! They fired him because he had a personality conflict with the GM. Well, the GM is not the coach, and is not going to be able to lead the team anywhere, so they should have fired the GM. They need to do away with GM's anyway. Marvin Lewis of the Bengals is the Head Coach and GM and that works better.

That was the stupidest move in NFL history! Despite his playoff woes, he had a talented team in the playoffs and was really starting to put it together! Their new coach will invariably screw with Marty's system, trying to put his own "stamp" on it, thereby screwing up the continuity and chemistry of what was a great team!

Well in a way yeah. New guy comes in and can bring in a staff of their own. On the other hand it is so late to be finding a Coach. Alot of good ones are already gone.
