Im thinking about riding my bike rather than relying on my car as often as i do. The only problem is i wouldnt feel safe riding on the road. Are we allowed to ride on public footpaths if there are no cycle lanes provided? i dont want to ride on road as cyclist get in my way when im driving and wouldnt want to get on wrong side of motorists as a cyclist. Is there a law stating that it is illegal or legal. Thanks.

My father emailed me an article in the Italian paper about a recently-deceased rider who PURPOSELY finished last in several Tours. He would stop, go for lunch, have a nap, hide in a ditch and then ride in in last place.

This was back in the early days of the Tour but I'm wondering if anyone knows his name. I think he was Italian.

Every time I try to install the hooks, they strip right out of the ceiling. I am trying to find some type of ceiling stud to screw into, but since I have to mount two hooks for each bike (I am trying to mount two bikes), I am unsure how to do this. Please let me know if you have experienced this and found a solution. I greatly appreciate the help.

I am looking for a quality men's mountain bike for my husband. Where can I find a sports store or bike shop that would have a wide selection of new bikes available for immediate purchase? Or, where can I find an online retailer IN the Republic of Ireland. (Please do not provide me with UK online web stores.) Thank you!

I just got back to road riding after a long spell. My old racer has pedals with toe clips. Right now I am using a pair of worn nike runners. Are they more effective shoes to use with such pedals.

I am trying to find out the length (from side to side) of handlebars on a bicycle. Does the length differ from a mountain bike to a road bike?

Also is there a standard width for handle bars as well? I read some where that it is 1", than I read that more and more bikes are 1 1/2" or better, can someone help?
