The Specialized Roubaix is a hot bike, no doubt about it.
The Tarmac is decent, solid performer, but for my money I would
go with the Roubaix. Specialized has this whole bike thing figured out, and from what I've seen they stand behind their products.

Hey Horatio,
Give the Transition a miss. This bike is for time trials and triathlons. I have a Tarmac and it is a great bike. I ride to work everyday and also long rides on the weekend like you plan to do.
This bike is a pleasure to ride and really responds when you put in the hard work. One of the other people suggested a Roubaix, nothing wrong with that either. My mate has one and we quite often do 100+ mile rides. Just different frame geometry - the Tarmac is more aggressive, where the Roubaix is for loooong rides.
Once you get going you may want to race aswell, in which case go for the Tarmac. Either bike is fine, and the full carbon frames will absorb a lot of the bumps the road has to offer. Specialized is a great brand and will be my choice for years to come.
See what fits you best and go from there.
Hope this helps!!

I believe the Transition is geared towards being a triathlon bike, and as such is NOT a very comfortable bike for commuting or long rides (the seat tube is more upright, to place your body farther forward over the cranks and front of the bike). The Tarmac is an excellent bike, and is a "road racing specific" geometry. Another bike to consider, if you like to be on just a little more comfortable bike is the Roubaix. I know people who put in 8000 miles a year, and they ride this bike. By far the best long distance performance road bike. Hope this helps you.

If you're doing long rides get a roubaix. They are fast but are more comfortable. A transition is for tris, and a tarmac is better suited for racing.

For what you described, a Specialized Roubaix is just the thing. It is extremely fast, and with the bonus that you'll be able to see where you're going.
