For 2007 my goal was to train 250 hours. Looks like I will have done about 80% spinning and outdoor cycling and the balance running and elliptical. All I want to do is keep up with my group when we ride outdoors and I still find it difficult. Any suggestions? Are indoor spin classes and riding on my trainer equivalent in terms of training for outdoor cycling?

To be more specific, I have a Raleigh Mojave 4.0. With the trails i'm riding now, it's just not cutting it for me. I found a one year old Kona Kikapu thats in great shape, for only $500. The Mojave 4.0 and the Kikapu are both considered entry level bikes, but I'm pretty sure the Kikapu has nicer components. Does anyone know if theres a difference in quality between entry level hardtails and dual suspensions?

I need to know since I can't get that answer from associates at my local Wal-Mart where the bike was purchased. Someone had stolen the dice valve covers from my son's bike.

I have a 1997 Hard Tail Gary Fisher - the bike is in superb condition as I've looked after it very well. I currently have V brakes which are good but slacken off fairly regular. Are disk brakes that much better?. As I assume I would need to change my front shocks, front and rear wheels?

(i.e. - breathing a little harder just before or during a big hill so that you prevent having an 'oxygen debt')

Some people claim that you can 'super-oxygenate' your blood which seems a little dubious but you may be able to make sure that you aren't carrying any 'oxygen debt' into the big climb. With a little forced breathing maybe I can make my oxygen transfer just a little more efficient.

For example I have to do a series of small hills before I do a big hill and I find that if I breathe a little extra just before the big hill it feels better on the climb. Is this just illusion? Does regular breathing provide all the air I need?

I know Amazon is a bad place to buy a bike but, I have to buy a non-used bike under 350 maybe 450. The reason why the price range is soo low is because most of the money will be coming out of my parents and I dont like using their money and the reason why I dont want a used one is because I can never trust buying a used bike online for some reason, probably because i think the frame will have a small crack somewhere. THANKS

I just bought a bike. It is called a comfort bike, because it has wheels with flat centers for riding on roads, however it has front shocks and a shimano shifter. What is the difference between this bike and a hard tail mountain bike? is it just the wheels, or are there other differences?

I have an old bicycle with a Sturmey-Archer gearhub and rod brakes. When I tried to get it serviced I was told that the rear wheel was too buckled to be of any use. How diffecult is it to replace the rim? I know you can still get Westwood rims (quite different from modern ones) but how difficult is it to change them over? Do I have to remove the spokes from the hub? I think that if I did have to, I might not be competant enough to do the job. Give me advice please. Thank you.

For Trek, I am looking at 6500 and 6700. For Cannondale, maybe the F4 or Caffeine 3. Trek seems to have better specced components at a lower price, but heard many good things about Cannondale's frame. Also heard that Cannondale is made in USA, while Trek is manufactured in Taiwan. Not sure if this is true. I will be riding mostly on roads/pavements, hardly on trails. Anyone has experience with both brands? Which one can go faster? Appreciate your comments. Thanks!
