G'day, I have just had my first go at the velodrome and would like to buy a good entry level bike. I'm 180 cm and weigh mid 60 kgs. Anybody got any suggestions of a good bike to buy or a good shop in south east australia?

Is there such a thing as a bike (bicycle) with an electric motor that you can also pedal at the same time that the motor is working? So you are still getting a workout but the motor will just make you faster. If so, where do you buy them? How much should they cost? Any other details?

By 'forced breathing' I mean intentionally breathing faster than you need to, especially just before a big hill in an attempt to superoxygenate your blood or at least slow down the oxygen debt.

I have only a $500 budget so most of the high end bikes are out of my range, but I am thinking I can get something decent for that price.

How far do you go? How long does it take you? What is the terrain like? I am considering doing a 10 1/2 mi commute each way, slightly hilly. 7 miles are country roads and the other 3 1/2 are like suburban stripmalls. My husband discourages me. Says it's not safe. I'm not in the best shape. How long should it take me after doing it for a couple weeks-a month? Any advice?

I'm going to be commuting around 30 miles one way on a bike - however, I will also be carrying a heavy rucksack - E.g. with books, laptop, water plus some bike accesories......I feel that this isn't a good idea as I find it quite heavy through walking let alone cycling! Any tips of how I could still carry all this while still maintaining a comfortable ride at good speed ?

Now that the law has doubled the fine for using mobile phones while driving, does this apply to bicycle riders too, as they could be a danger in traffic steering their bikes with one hand

I saw citrus degreasers in convenience stores -- is this the same substance as in the MTB degreaser (it says orange peel oil or something like that)? I thought that the special MTB degreasers can be a marketing ploy -- am I totally wrong?

I'm doing a 58 mile bike ride for the British Heart Foundation and having never ridden any long distance before wanted to know (approximately) how long it would take. I know different people cycle at different speeds, but an average would be good!
Many Thanks

I'm new to biking and am in the market for an inexpensive starter bike to ride in the city and once a month on trails. What size bike should I get? I prefer a more relaxed riding position.

How is it that Lance Armstrong was able to beat his rivals for 7 consecutive years?

If your answer is "hard work", do you think other riders just sit on their butts, and hope for the best? If your answer is his physical talent (ie VO2 Max., Heart Rate, etc), do you really think he's the only cyclist with raw physical talent?
