I'm starting to get back into mountain biking and haven't been keeping up on all the latest trends. I know trek had a great think going in the Y series, just wondering how those compare to the current market?

Want to buy a mountain bike below $400 including taxes.

My friends, could you please suggest me what mountain bike I should buy. Can I buy online that save me a lot of money? Please provide suggested brand name and model number. What website is the most reliable and cheapest to buy a mountain bike.

Thank you very much.

There are a number of pix on the Web showing guys changing from trunks to biking gear in public. Googling
triathlon "public changing" OR "public nudity" OR "naked in public"
finds over 9,000 hits, and among the first 100, all relevant cases either prohibit such behavior or specifically require changing inside tents or buildings. Which suggests that there is reason to state an explicit prohibition.
Given the above, my questions are: Did it use to be allowed for triathlon guys to change in public? Are there any races where it's still permitted, and/or where guys still do so anyway? Are the published bans regularly observed and/or enforced?

Are your feet supposed to touch the ground when the bike is at a still? Also, is it possible to replace the seat on your bike, by yourself?

I am a 42 year-old woman who is building up to riding 30 miles a day. I own a mountain bike because that's what I have -- I can't afford a new bike right now. I rode 26 miles today on flat paved roads and feel pretty good. Anyway, what is the best bicycling magazine for me to subscribe to? Thanks.

If you're not going fast and are careful why is it illegal? The streets are too dangerous to ride your bike in, why should I be fined for riding on a sidewalk?!

I'm planning on riding only on roads or bike trails, no off-roading at all. We have miles of bike trails around town as well as hilly, winding country roads. I have a huge selection of bikes available in my town, probably several dozen brands. I'd like to spend no more than $500. I'm female, 5'7". Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a bike to take from work and back daily. I am also interested in a bike that I can take to the trails. I am a beginner. I know that I want a mountain bike, and I am interested in full suspension. I would like a bike that has a more aggresive stance versus me siting up right. Freeride bikes have more interesting looks, but I'm not sure that's what I need. Can some one tell me what I should be looking at in terms of the different styles of bikes. Also, I'm five nine, what size frame should I be looking at? Thanks for the help. P.S. WHat is freeride anyway?

I bought a 56 Size Trek 1500 Race Alpha Aluminum (SLR) yesterday. I measured Frame 56 has a 17" long "Handlebar". Unfortunately, I am 5’7”. I must go back for a frame size 54. (Frame 56 is too big for me)

The problem for Frame Size 54 is the handlebar size is only 16”. Is there any way to extend the handlebar at least one more inch to 17” for the Frame 54?

I am mountain bike rider and new to race bike, so small handle bar causing problem for me to hold it.

I'm looking to buy a dirt bike for the first time, but I'm not sure what kind I should buy or what I should pay for it. I would like to know what you think a good dirt bike is and how much you think I should buy it for.
PS:I'm looking for something that I can take off road and play with not a super fast racing bike.

Here's my situation, I'm 16 and I'm looking into buying a new bike. My last bike was a full suspension bike but wasn't a "real" mountain bike. I bent the first gear trying to actually climb a hill so I'm guessing a real mountain bike might help me do what I really want to do. I'd like to keep the price around 500$ or lower. Any suggestions on what brand or things to look for when buying one will help.
