Your saddle should support your "sit bones" and not your entire behind. Try out a few different saddles and see which one works best for your anatomy. Also remember your saddle won't be broken in for 100-200 miles so there may be some slight discomfort riding until you reach that point.

People buy those wide gel covers for their saddles all the time from our shop and we stock them because they sell. However, those types of saddles are NOT preferable for distance or competitive cycling because they actually create MORE pressure by having a larger surface contact area. A slimmer saddle that support the bones meant to be sat on is the normal choice for a distance or competitive rider. HOWEVER, body geometry is all different so the hard part is finding out what works best for YOU.

Good luck!

The SEAT® takes the pressure off soft tissues and tender organs. The Seat reduces the
risks of impotency and other injuries with its revolutionary (“horn-less” design).

The SEAT® has also been endorsed by physicians.
The SEAT® solves the universal problem of bicycle seat discomfort.
The SEAT® is a healthier alternative to conventional bike seats.

Go to website thecomfortseat.com and you will find a most comfort seat for long bike rides. I have one and I love it, it's almost square but it works great.

just like anything else, the best bike saddle is different for everyone
I prefer my Selle Italia gel saddles on my road bikes, and Specialized BG on my MTB
however I have many cycling friends that love their Brooks saddles for centuries and double centuries
best thing to do is go to your local bike shop and "get fitted" , start with the different Specialized saddles
