Spinning the wheel shows it (and the cogs) wobbling. The wheel uses a quick release lever on one end and a thumbscrew sort of thing on the other.

If I spin the wheel (or turn the pedals) backwards, the chain pops off the high cogs onto the lower ones. Could the wobbling of the wheel cause this, or does this more likely indicate a derailleur problem?

Thanks for helping a newbie :)

I think I can buy a crappy bike at like Toys are Us or something, and then start getting better parts until finally I ditch the frame and put all the good parts onto a nice frame and I have a nice bike.

I'm thinking of starting with a 10-speed, then eventually having a nice 24 speed road bike. Doesn't need to be the super lightweight racing stuff, but good quality. So the question really is what order should I buy and replace the parts. I'm thinking start with the wheels, then the breaks, then the gears and finally the frame. Does that sound feasible?

I have a bike and i'm not sure how to tell if it's woman's or not. The handlebar isn't straight and my friend tells me it's a womans bike. For those who are wondering what bike it is, it's an Infinity Quark, which is made by AMS (A. Mordo & Son.) Lastly, it's a full suspension bike if that matters.

I recently purchased a "Specialized crossroads" hybrid and I am impressed. I'ts the smoothest, most comfortable riding bicycle I've ever ridden. I was curious about the high-end hybrids. Are they really that much better and if so, why?
