Bit of an outsider but I think Cadel Evans will be in the running... we'll have to see. There still another couple of days of 'warm-ups' before the race really starts... in the mountains...

I think days 16 Bourg d’Oisans to La Toussuire and 17 Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to Morzine-Avoriaz are going to be crucial, and we'll have to see who can do well there. There are only two road days after that, a time trial, then the ride into Paris... a well organized team should be able to protect its leader if they can get him over the mountains in good position, strong and healthy.

hincapie is my pick. boonen and mcewen are sprinters, can't handle the mountains. the real men come out during those stages.

i think tom boonen. because ullrich bailed out of the tour at the last moment and boonen has got the team quick star with him to do what discovery channel did for lance armstrong.
