For some reason, I never really gave much thought to this. Hagler had trouble with slick boxers, as evidenced in his loss to Sugar Ray Leonard. Ray Robinson lost his first fight to an aggressive and tough swarmer in Lake LaMotta. SRR was slicker than SRL, and MH was more aggressive and tougher than JLM. And both fighters had good skills in the other aspects of boxing not mentioned. What do you think would be the difference maker in a 15 round bout?

Hey everyone. I just recently bought a new Heavy Bag and Speed bag for boxing, as well as a new treadmill.

I am really wanting to get into boxing cause I think it will be exciting and I am very into health and I feel it will help me in those regards as well in terms of keeping me in shape.

I am also trying to pack on some muscle mass currently as well, I was wondering if anyone could help me put together a routine thats includes boxing and weight training so I can pack on muscle mass well boxing. I eat mostly all healthy foods, lots of protein and carbs. And only eat bad once a week so my diet is already in check. Just need to balance the boxing and weight training to get the best of both.

Thanks in Advanced.

How do you go about finding a sponsor and what kinds of companies should you start with? How early in your career should you start looking? What kinds of questions will they ask you and what type of information do you need to provide for them? What kinds of questions should you ask them? What is expected out of a sponsor? Any other tips/info about sponsors would be sincerely appreciated.

Question revisited. 15 rounds at middleweight

2007-08-24 18:39:37 · 10 answers · asked by toughguy2 7

it's just insane that there are so many weight classes in boxing - like who cares who the Cruiserweight champion is? right? - don't yall think it would be better to have less weight classes like
light flyweight
flyweight
lightweight
welterweight
middleweight
light heavyweight
heavyweight

and that's it.

I left my gloves lying out and my puppy decided to urinate on them. I did'nt notice right away. Anyway, they reek but are good gloves and are fairly new. Im sure its not ideal for the leather but has anyone tried washing\ drying gloves by machine. (if so how did it work out??) Also any other suggestions to de-odourise or clean are appreciated!.

Perhaps I just have to trash them and be more careful in the future!!!

Champ in boxing history- Marciano- who wins in their primes?

ALI's- Resume of victories over a long list of hall of fame fighters speaks volumes about how skilled he was as a fighter!

In boxing it's about who you beat, not how many over the hill fighters, or how many lower skilled fighters you have defeated to pad your record.

Be honest with yourself, look at the technique both fighters displayed, look at the opponents both fighters defeated, and who do you honestly believe comes out on top in this one.

In my opinion ALI WOULD DOMINATE THIS FIGHT- PROBABLY EVEN KNOCKING MARCIANO OUT IN THE LATER ROUNDS.

MARCIANO WAS KNOCKED DOWN AND HURT BADLY BY A 42 YEAR OLD ARCHIE MOORE WHO WAS NOT A LEGIT HEAVY-WEIGHT.

MY GOODNESS! WHAT WOULD THE GREATEST DO TO HIM!
