I left my gloves lying out and my puppy decided to urinate on them. I did'nt notice right away. Anyway, they reek but are good gloves and are fairly new. Im sure its not ideal for the leather but has anyone tried washing\ drying gloves by machine. (if so how did it work out??) Also any other suggestions to de-odourise or clean are appreciated!.

Perhaps I just have to trash them and be more careful in the future!!!

My puppy did the same thing, but I "convinced him" to buy me some new ones. If your puppy is unable or unwilling to purchase you new gloves, then clean them with a soapy cloth repeatedly, and then use powder (I use Gold Bond believe it or not) after they have dried out.

The washer and dryer will crack, shrink, and destroy your gloves.

How To Wash Boxing Gloves

Never use a machine on things like that. I personally would hang them on the line out side and let them air out for a week while stedialy spraying them with a mixture or Spray on Deodorat, Frabrize, and Leather cleaner. also put some Car Air fresheners inside and around the gloves. This strong combination of scents should neutralize the odor, if not trash them and be more careful

I had a cat that would urinate in a corner of my new house no matter what I did. Someone told me he was trying to stake his claim (I had another cat) and that I needed to remove the odor completely and he might stop going there. I tried every odor remoiving product at the pet store. Finally saw an informercial for this product : http://www.zeroodorstore.com/

I had to make sure it penetrated to the carpet pad, but the smell was gone. I mean I put my face down to smell and there was nothing once it had dried. The cat couldn't smell it either and my problem was gone.

He also did it to my husband's leather computer bag and we doused it with this stuff too. It worked for the odor, but it lost some of it's luster. You might not care about that with gloves.

I'm a huge leather glove wearer, wear em almost everyday, but not boxing gloves. Usually I take mine to the cleaners and have them dry cleaned, but I'm not sure if they would do the same with boxing gloves. Otherwise, there is a cleaning liquid for leather out there, look it up and you should find it.

No experience with boxing gloves, but lots with hockey gear (mixed materials including leather)... best advice I ever got that worked pretty well... hang 'em outside when you know a fair amount of rain is on the way; and let them keep hanging for a couple of sunny days after wards to dry....

Go to your local Home Depot and buy a product called Up and Out...use it on the gloves then use a bit of vasoline to wipe the gloves off after you use the up and out product it is a multi use stain removal product I have used it for years on my gear

I would try a proprietary leather cleaner and them a leather polish. The washing machine and dry will stiffen the leather and mess up the padding.

That is a very hard smell to remove... It would probably be best to buy some more... That would really suck if you were boxing and the person smelled pee.... I would not want that to happen would you????

Maybe you should hand wash them.
