Really...David Robinson went his entire career being called "soft." Until this year, the only time the Spurs weren't considered a "soft" team is when they had Dennis Rodman. Tim Duncan and company were not considered a "dirty" team until Amare Stoudamire started complaining after losses. Where is the evidence? A couple of inadvertent fouls by Bruce Bowen and a hard foul by Robert Horry? Almost overnight the Spurs went from being considered little girls to be the Wicked Witch of the West.

Hear me out. David Stern better start taking a book out of American Idol and start "helping" teams get to the finals. First, we all know that Cleavland will not and never beat San Antonio. Not with Lebron and not against Duncan. They got past Detroit because Detroit's middle name is complacency. I am not a Spurs fan and never will be because- THEY ARE NOT EXCITING. Let's be honest. I was speaking with someone yesterday, people are excited by people- not the way they shoot bank shots nor the way they shoot 20 ft jumpshots (Tony). Women don't find the spurs appealing and men don't want to be like them. Find a kid that wants to be like Tim Duncan- given the choice of Kobe, Shaq, D-Wade, Nash, Nowitzki and I will give you a dollar. Mind you they only have 3,4,1,0,0 championships respectively. The only famous/ infamous things the spurs are known for are dirty plays and a Desperate Desperate housewife. Is it me or does the NBA think that if they show her every other second ratings go up.:(

Well Shaq tried to bail the team out but Kobe wouldnt give him the ball enough:
Kobe's averages from the 2004 finals:
2004: 22.6 ppg, 4.4 apg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 steals, .6 blocks, 3.6 turnovers, 38% shooting

Shaq's averages from the 2004 finals:
2004: 26.6 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, .6 blocks, 63.1% shooting, 49% FT

-------------------

sidenote, Kobe always sucked in the finals but shaq was good enough to bail them out, this is why we say he CARRIED kobe.

NBA Finals

Does anyone else find it really annoying when refs call flops when the whole world can see that the guy is flopping. Or for instance last night the last play of the game where Bowen tried to intentionally foul or when Daniel Gibson got run over on his 3 attempts. I realize it works both ways but in the end i think its unproffesional & that is a weak spot in the nba & really pisses me off cause its more the politics of the game, such as hes a superstar, theyre on the home court, etc... let both sides play & let the best team win, the refs influence the game way too much with some of that stuff.

People call Kobe selfish, but who can he pass to that can put the ball in the basket 10% of the time?? And remember he is a SG aka scorer, and he averaged 5.4 assits for the season.

The nominations are in. Here are the tops for defensive ineptitude:

-Steve Nash, Phoenix Suns
-Yao Ming, Houston Rockets
-Eddy Curry, New York Knicks

The losers so far are:
-Biggest Disappointing Rookie: J.J. Redick
-Most Regressed: Steve Franics
-Worst Exec.: Isiah Thomas

You can ONLY choose from one of these THREE. Any answers that do not vote for one of these three will be tossed out.

The best answer will be chosen from the group of votes that chose the winner (or loser, depending how you see it).

I watched him last night fall away so many times that I expected him to run to the locker room. FYI - your not Jordan yet - you have potential, but I think until then, FUNDAMENTALS are key.

...or would you leave it as is?
I mean, when sub .500 teams can make the playoffs...or even worse, when an entire division is below .500, then something is wrong.
What do you say?

Best
~Baron Davis and his Warriors crushing the Mavericks.
~Kobe Bryant and his 50 plus games.
~LeBron historic performance in Game 5 against the Pistons.
~Bobbie shooting 5 consecutive 3 pointers in Game 6 in the Eastern Finals.
~Eastern Finals Trophy going up in the air.
~Baron Davis's dunk over AK-47.

Worst
~Dywane Wade Injury
~Heat swept by the Bulls
~Cavs on the road of being swept in the Finals!
~Another heartbreaking loss for Cleveland.
~All of the bullshit the Suns had to go through with the Spurs.
~Dirk “The Nazi” getting MVP. (Even though he deserved it… I don’t really care!)

Yea... so how about you guys?
Best and Worst Moments?

p.s. The Spurs better not win here in Cleveland. Cavs better take them home to San Antonio... because no one can bear to see the trophy given off to another team... time after time... down here in Cleveland.

when Bruce Bowen grabbed Lebron James with 4-5 seconds left in game three of the NBA finals the Refs did not call anything. he was obviously trying to foul and yet there was no call. i think the Cavs may have won if it wasnt for this call. your opinion?

Please, someone tell me. Remember back in the 90s and early 2000s when it was so exciting. From the Knicks-Pacers rivalry, Lakers dynasty, and last but not least, Air Jordan. I mean, I remember when it was so exciting to watch. Guys like Reggie in his prime, MJ, Penny in his prime. I want to know you opinion on what went wrong. I mean, if you think it is better nowadays, you need to stop lying to yourself. Either that, or you are to young to remember when the NBA was actually worth watching. Peace!
