San Antonio Fans - How bad does it hurt that you may win another NBA championship and NOBODY cares. Your team will probably carve up the Larry Obrien Trophy into little pieces and take a piece back to their foreign country. A little piece in France, a couple pieces in South America, a piece in the Virgin Islands. Tony Parker will hold his little piece while drinking his red wine and eating cheese while the Germans take over his country. The Spurs represent their city well - no real Americans!

I know who it is....Its not a bad team....Its a very good team with 2 NBA legends......I dont know if it was the biggest blowout in the finals but I know this team only scored like 50 somthin points maybe 60...i cant remember excatly but it was low. One more clue is that it happened in the 90's......Who know the team? How about the score of the game?

Everybody bashes Kobe when everybody knows Kobe has nobody to help him win games. Now the Spurs are making Lebron look like the next Harold Miner and everybody backs him up by stating he needs help. Come on people and admit that Lebron is WAY overhyped at this point in his young career. "KINGS" don't need supports last time I checked. I know he is young and will probably do a lot of great things in his career. People need to quit acting like he is gonna be the best ever if he cant even hit a 19 foot jumper on a consistent basis. Finally a good, western conference defense got a hold of him and he doesn't know how to dominate the game. Poor "KING."

- Stern pushed him forward into the spotlight at every opportunity he got. Stern thought he would represent perfection and success in the NBA like Jordan but Lebron hasn't

- Media used him extensively to market him as an explosive scorer (I agree) and a king(no) and a future legend (bogus)

Before he could prove anything they gave him the crown and labeled him the next MJ or Magic or whatever

Lebron can't live up to those standards...just can't, too young, stupid teammates, great opponents, biased refs, excuses excuses

The simple fact is Lebron does not possess the clutch play of MJ and Magic...juss doesn't ...he and the cavs got lucky getting an easy draw to get to the FINALS

Doesn't know when too shoot and doesn't know when to pass (most of the time he does pass it is to bail him out for hard circumstances he gets himself into with his over dribbling and poor movement and cuts OFF THE BALL)

Lebron is just another Vince Carter, T-Mac, Marion or Pierce

I play once a week in the gym for two hours straight of running style basketball. I wanted to get the opinion of somebody who's actually worn them for a good amount of time to see if they're worth it.

... and $15 isn't a lot of money, but i'd rather put it towards better shoes if need be.

Cavs Fan Here - What a time for the Cavs not to be able to make wide open shots - in the finals..go figure... I am sick of hearing about how good San Antonio is. The Cavs would be losing these finals to the New York Knicks or Charlotte Bobcacts if we were playing them... San Antonio is earned squat in this finals. Especially last night. What a puke game by San Antonio and even worse puke shooting performance by the Cavs. How can someone in the NBA not make open jump shots at least 50% of the time. What is wrong with Lebron's jump shot? Worse than last year. I thought players were supposed to get better year to year. Why when Lebron gets a pick will he not take the ball to the basket off of the pick but instead pulls it back to the top of the three point line into a double team with the guy who was just picked? Our coaches suck.. The Spurs are the most boring team of all time. Tim Duncan can not be an all time great when he doesn't even lead his team in scoring in the finals

By full credit, I mean would you consider them a team that could match up well against championship teams in the past? They faced a watered down east in those years where the talent pool wasn't great at all...ESPECIALLY at center. I mean, Shaq is one of the greatest of all times. In his prime, you could match him up with Lamar Odom and they'd win a ring in todays NBA right?

Look they faced Indiana in 2000 - (Rik Smits)
76ers in 2001 - (Dikembe Mutombo)
And swept the Nets in 2002 - (Todd MacCulloch)

What do you think people, is this like a "great" Laker team of the past? Or were they fortunate to have Shaq in his prime facing a weak east??

The Mavs can officially be labeled as the “Great Collapse-Prone Team.” What does is take for them (Mavericks) to overcome such reputation?

last night they foul lebron as he shoots a three and no call, they suspend the suns best player and basically hand the spurs that series, they reward ginobli for his flopping and they seem to just be ignorant to anything the spurs do wrong. There was a point in the series against Denver where Duncan had one foul in nine quarters which is physically impossible to pull off playing center in the nba. Anybody else feel as though the Spurs have been given the title? Because they have and if you ask me David Stern should be MVP of the playoffs

Make an NBA team that has no current all-star (2006-2007) and can be champion or as strong as possible. Only use 7 players, the first 5 and 2 benches.
Exclude Elton Brand, Jason Kidd and injured All-Stars (All-Star Replacements are also excluded)

Mine would be
C - Marcus Camby
PF - ???
SF - Ron Artest
SG-???
PG- ???

I dont know my PF, SG and PG so I need your help, you can remove camby and artest if you want

The Jordan/ Pippen combo was one of the best of all time but has there ever been any combo better than these?

2007-06-12 19:44:48 · 15 answers · asked by Anonymous

Any one ever ask why is it Jordan never won a championship without Pippen? Teams had a fool-proof when dealing with the Bulls pre-Pippen. They let Jordan run and shut down everyone else. Even if Jordan scored 60, the Bulls might still lose.

Jordan needed a supporting cast. That was Pippen. Pippen simply made his teammates better. Pippen was the ultimate team player, he could defend, he could score and he sure as hell can pass. Everything Jordan could do, he could match. The only thing Jordan held above him was his explosive scoring.

No matter how good Jordan can be, no one can match 5 people. One on one, Jordan is better than Pippen, but on the court Pippen made his teammates take part.

Pippen was also the hard-nosed defender that Jordan wasn't always (it's a scandal that he has no award and Jordan does). In fact the strong perimeter and man to man defense that the current Bulls have is carbon copied from him.

So I say Pippen. You guys?

- THey had the home crowd behind them
- They had Tim Duncan, Ginobilli and Parker controlled for most of the game.kudos to cavs for D'in up!

- They had several opportunites to take the lead/cut the lead when they held the spurs scoreless for about 5 minutes towards the end of the 4th while down by 4...why couldn't they go over the hump?

- Lebron was fouled, while he was dribbling...if they had called a fould it would've hurt teh cavaliers since lebron and his shaky allergic to clutch stroke would go to the free throw line down 3 by only to get a maximum of 2 points with like 2 seconds left.it was a trade off anyways as Lebron got free and rose up for a wide open 29 footer which he missed.

- OH yea, the cavs got 11 more shot opportunities than the spurs (79-68) and 15 offensive rebounds comapred to 7 of the spurs. Thanks to Z and gooden's work. ADMIT THE FACT THAT Lebron has teammates that get the job done. Stop giving excuses on how lousy teammates are

Thoughts??

I first started using YahooAnswers back in December of '06 and I was a regular in this category (basketball). And if my memory serves me right, like it always does, there weren't that many Spurs fans around back then. Everyone was on the Suns and Mavs bandwagon. Then the finals come and all of the sudden all of these Spurs fans appear.

Why is that so?

Could it be because most of them are on the winning teams bandwagon no matter who it is? Anyone agree?

He'd been shooting 3 free throws and perhaps tie the game,
it was an obvious foul by Bowen slapping Lebron's back
Last year's finals Dwayne Wade barely got "touched" and the referees still call a foul on him. makes me think the finals are set up. Mavs were a much better team, no offense
