when Bruce Bowen grabbed Lebron James with 4-5 seconds left in game three of the NBA finals the Refs did not call anything. he was obviously trying to foul and yet there was no call. i think the Cavs may have won if it wasnt for this call. your opinion?

You're right, they should have called the foul right away. But when it 1st happened, Lebron wasn't in the act of shooting. So he would have gotten two foul shots. If the Spurs got the rebound, it would've been over.

If they called the foul late (which I think is what you wanted). Lebron would've gotten three shots. Let's say he made all three. I think most people would agree that is unlikely... But just say he did....
They would've played 5 minutes of overtime. Drew Gooden couldn't help because he already fouled out. It would probably just have prolonged the agony. I think that scenario would've had the same outcome.

In all honesty i think the refs did Lebron and the Cavs a favor. If they would have called Bowen for the foul, Lebron would have been shooting 2 shots not three! He was clearly fouled before the even had da ball above his waist. Assuming they called the foul the Cavs would have had virtually no time to do anything. It was only 2.2sec left in the game...the refs gave Lebron the chance to live up to the hype of being the next Jordan and he missed.

Well, at least the officials are consistent with this...they almost NEVER call a foul with a few seconds left in the game. I understand why they do this (let the players decide the outcome, not the officials) but I doubt it's in the official rule book, and the play last night is a great example of why this is a HUGE problem. It was obvious that Bowen was intentionally fouling James to put him on the line. The officials need to ignore the clock and call the game the same no matter how much time is left.

As a Spurs fan it's obvious Bowen meant to foul LeBron to avoid a 3 pointer. It could have easliy blown up in the Spurs face. They should have done what Bowen wanted but I think a lot of you would of complained when Lebron would of gotten 2 foul shots. Of course this is subjective. It could have been 3 shots but Bowen was definelty trying to get him fouled before LeBron got the shot going.

Sweetie, do you know nothing about basketball? First, there were only 2.2 seconds left in the game. Second, Lebron wasn't shooting when Bowen touched him, so he would have only gotten 2 free throws. The Cavs were behind by 3 points, so that wouldn't have helped--they still would have lost.
I can't believe that some Suns fans are still whining because they lost. There must be something else to do in Phoenix besides sit around and cry.
And as for the refs or the NBA favoring the Spurs, that's just dumb. They're too small a market for anybody to want to favor them. Y'all need to grow up and get on with your lives.

The Cavs would have only tied the game ASSUMING LeBron would have hit all three free throws. He wasn't even in the act of shooting, so they would probably have just gotten the ball back. Continuation my ***! The refs did not cost the Cavs the game, LeBron cost his team the game by passing to that wigwearing idiot Varejao who thought he was back home in Brazil in his backyard playing pickup. What a loser! Anyway, the "no call" definitely makes up for the couple of elbows LeBron hit Ginobili and Bowen with earlier in the game and got away with. Payback's a *****...

And I'm not sure if you're referring to the same instance, but Bowen fouling him on that last second three...
Even if it had been called, the Spurs still would have won. Because of the continuation rules he would have only had 2 shots from the line. If he makes both, they still lose. Saying that the foul ocurred during the shot and giving him three shots from the line would have been the bigger mistake.

Who knows, maybe lightning will strike and the Cavs'll win the next four.

sure one hundred% fouled. the place are his 3 unfastened throws? Bowen for sure grew to become into attempting to foul Lebron. it is the reason he threw up that long selection shot while he could have actually gotten a greater efficient shot. CMON. provide them a great gamble.

the refs are not going to make a call in the final seconds of the game that can potentially alter the outcome.
i agree...MJ did give Mr Russell a push, but you KNOW they wasn't gonna call that!!!
what you need to do is win with authority so that one simple little call can't be complained about. if the Cavs were beatin that butt, they would never have been in that situation with under 3 secs to play.
and uumm....Mr Jack....let it go playa! the Suns got beat and they are done for the year. please don't revisit that series cuz whatever you believe...the Spurs were going to win regardless.

Can he, the 70% FT shooter, hit three shots with the game on the line?

He was fouled, just like MJ pushed Byron Russell in game 6 vs. the Jazz years ago. The refs are human, so don't expect them to win the game for you.
