I don't think it'll go more than six games. I just don't believe the Rockies can match up with the Sox in the pitching department. Guys like Ramirez and Lowell will make a guy like Francis wish he had never heard of the Green Monster...! And on the other hand, I look for people like Beckett and Matsusaki to possibly be overpowering, especially Beckett. Oh, I know the Rockies took it to 'em during the regular season, but that doesn't mean a thing now. That is my take on the series. What do you think?

If this latest injury is serious enough, and the Sox end up winning this World Series, do you think Wakefield will retire? He has had an amazing career in Boston and he is getting older. Don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorite players, but for a guy who throws 60 miles an hour, he has a lot of back and shoulder problems.

Is it only the guys on the series roster? all of the people on any playoff roster?

Is it Reggie Jackson's hat trick? Carlton Fisk willing the ball fair? Kirk Gibson hobbling around the bases? Willie Mays' catch? Brooklyn winning its first and only trophy?

I love it when the unlikeliest of men become legends. Don Larson, a rather average pitcher, dominated the powerful Brooklyn lineup, and pitched the only no-hitter in post season history, and he was... perfect.

They are calling the current World Series the 103rd World Series. It started in 1903 but 2 years weren't played (1904 and 1994). If they don't count both the unplayed years then we would be in the 102ed World Series and if they count both unplayed years it would be the 104th World Series.

So Which year did they count (and which did they not)?

With the ridiculous amount of coverage the New England teams get, how will ESPN react if the Rockies win the World Series? Will it read something like...

"Rocky Mountain High; Rockies Win!"

or...

"Sox Lose; How Could This Happen?"

My vote goes to the second headline, even if it would turn out to be a seven-game series.

Here's another scenario that could only happen in another world: Pirates/Royals World Series.

Can anyone tell me what time the world series starts on TV tonight? Minnesota time please...

I'm at work and can't really B.S. on the internet too much...first correct answer gets 10 points, easy enough...

If you don't know what time it is, just put who you would like to win...have a good day...looking forward to some good baseball and some beers after work...

After the Civil War, a precident was set in this country that secession was illegal. This whole Red Sox "Nation" thing is a little unsettling to me. Is this a threat to the sovereignty of the United States? Not sure this is exactly legal. Should they all be deported, or is referring to the fan base you belong to merely stupid and annoying.

I think it's all because of his presential bid & for getting votes for himself & I don't think he would be pulling for the Red Sox if he weren't looking for publicity & votes. Thoughts?

He said if Torre was gone he'd seriously consider going elsewhere. Now he has done a remarkable turnaround. Comments?

He went from being one of the best hitters and overall players in baseball (and one of the BIG 3 SHORTSTOPS, along with Jeter and Arod), winning Rookie of the Year, two batting championships and being a stud for the Red Sox to becoming an average, forgettable player. This reminds me of what happened to Carlos Baerga after he got traded to the Mets. Did Fenway's green monster inflate his stats, injuries, or what?

i'm not really a rockies fan, but i am rooting for them in the world series. they have won 22 of 23. 2 weeks before the the end of the season everyone had written them off. when they made the playoffs everyone said they would lose to the Phillies, and then everyone said they would lose to the diamondbacks. now if you listen to espn you'd think the rockies already lost the world series.

I know he's a frontrunner for the National League MVP, but it seems apparent to me that he's a beneficiary of playing in Coors Field.

His career splits show a .364 average at home, versus .273 on the road. And in 2007, his slugging percentage was almost 250 points higher at home than on the road. Not that he was a bad player on the road (.301 BA), but not a superstar, either. To me, he's benefitting from the same effects that made ordinary players like Dante Bichette, Vinny Castilla and Jeff Cirillo into stars.

Would Holliday produce at anything close to this pace on another team? If you think he would, why do you think that?

In truth everyone seems to have jumped on bandwagons for teams that are doing well. I love sports and get irriated seeing someone in a Red Sox hat when they can't even name 3 players on the team.
