After the Civil War, a precident was set in this country that secession was illegal. This whole Red Sox "Nation" thing is a little unsettling to me. Is this a threat to the sovereignty of the United States? Not sure this is exactly legal. Should they all be deported, or is referring to the fan base you belong to merely stupid and annoying.

The fan base is stupid and annoying and they should be deported, or the president can send troops into Boston and destroy the city.

First, learn how to spell precedent.

When did Red Sox Nation declare secession from the United States? It is completely legal.

Referring to a group to be deported is against the UN treaties on genocide, so you have actually broken International Law and can be tried in The Hague.

The buttwhooping the Rockies will get tonight may not be legal, though.

MLB is a business enterprise. The Yankees presented Damon greater funds and he took it, so could every person else. i think of it rather is real dumb while followers try this to former gamers. This additionally took place with Jermaine Dye in Oakland, he helped them get to the playoffs only approximately single handedly. the subsequent year he signed with the White Sox, and the A's followers booed him while he got here back to play them. The A's did not even furnish him a settlement. So do not boo or call the participant a traitor till you comprehend the full deal. I also have a question for those that study this. in case you labored for Chevron and made $a hundred,000 a year, the won a job furnish from Shell for $one hundred fifty,000 a year, could you reside or circulate? in case you assert circulate to shell you have not any room to call every person a traitor by way of fact all Johnny Damon and the different loose agent does is circulate to who pays greater. in case you assert which you're able to stay, you're a liar.

I have nothing against them but that is a bit odd. Let them have it, if it's all they have going. I still think they will beat the Rockies in the World Series.

"No, we really feel that we compromise a nation apart from, separate from, and better than the rest of the country. In Maine and Vermont, especially, there is an active movement to create a Northern New England autonomous zone legally separate from the jurisdiction of the US Federal Government."

I hope New England does become their own territory, then we will have less Democrats in this country, and then Ted Kennedy and John Kerry won't be senators, thanks for doing us all a favor.

The one guy sorry I had to give you a thumbs down't since you couldn't spell catch.

I see D.Cleveland is still whiny and bitter about losing to the Sox in the ALCS..grow up.

No, Red Sox fans are not committing high treason. The Red Sox have so many fans that they do make a mini-nation. It's nothing more than a catch phrase.

The fact that you feel the need to ask this question is just plain stupid.

No, we really feel that we compromise a nation apart from, separate from, and better than the rest of the country. In Maine and Vermont, especially, there is an active movement to create a Northern New England autonomous zone legally separate from the jurisdiction of the US Federal Government.

Our allegiance to our sports teams mirrors a real geographic affinity within the New England region. People from Massachusetts due tend to be *******, though, but still, they are far preferable to the Jesus-hugging bible thumpers who live in the South and mid-west. In general in New England, we have more respect for education and enlightenment--except for the libertarian purists in New Hampshire, all the states of New England have redemption laws for soda and beer bottles. We have good public and private schools, good public radio stations, and as sports fans, we are intelligent enough to appreciate the rich historical narratives attached to our teams. So yes, in a way, at least, we do have a sense of ourselves as the class of American Sports fans, smarter, more engaged, and really probably better off in our own separate nation.

To the genius above who said send Red Sox Nation to Iraq: Fat Chance of that happening. The New England States were all pretty much united in rejecting Bush's illegal invasion from the start. It's just another example of how we up in the Northeast corner are a little bit more informed than the followers living in some other geographical areas.

I'm a Sox fan but I do not get the Red Sox 'Nation' thing myself and am really tired of hearing it. I'm also tired of hearing the Yankees referred to as 'The Evil Empire'. The rivalry is getting just too rabid for me.
I love the Sox, they're a great team and the fans are wonderful but the hype is ridiculous.
