In truth everyone seems to have jumped on bandwagons for teams that are doing well. I love sports and get irriated seeing someone in a Red Sox hat when they can't even name 3 players on the team.

Honestly, what's wrong with a bandwagon? A "bandwagon" draws more money into the venues, and helps the surounding economy. Plus, it's just plain fun to live in a city where your team is sucessful and bringing about a vast camaraderie. The "secret-handshake-I've-been-a-fan-for-45-years" attitude is tired. Just enjoy that people are supporting the team.
P.S. ---Javier Lopez, Coco Crisp, and David Ortiz...Happy?

Manny, Ortiz, Youk, Wakefield,Beckett,Schilling,Tavarez,Snyder,Lugo,Cora,Varitek,Drew,Ellsbury..not enough? How about Carlos Quintana, Jody Reed, Mo Vaughn, Phil Plantier,Wade Boggs, Jose Canseco,Mike Greenwell,Tony Pena...all off the top of my head.

Mostly now its an American League vs. National League argument. I think people root for the Sox or the Rockies because their team is in that division.

It's like pulling teeth to get me to wear a Reds cap in Cincinnati. But I'll sport a StL or Price Hill Saints lid in a heartbeat!
BTW - Youkilis, Ortiz, Ramirez, Schilling, Gagne. That's 5 and I'm hoping the Coolbaugh family wins the World Series!

Cub fans are the real baseball fans, and of course, after the debacle, we all went to the Cubby Bear or some similar watering hole and consoled ourselves, repeating over and over, "Wait till next year."

im a real fan but a padres fan.
giles, peavy, hoffman, greene, cameron, bell......
there's always next year.we went to the postseason 2 years in a row and by padres standards thats too much and now we must wait until we get our calling card and lose once again to the cardinals
