I used to watch F1 now and again because the speed and power excited me, and Michael Schumacher was interesting to watch from time to time. Honestly though, the prospect of Lewis Hamilton got me watching full-on, and I've been hooked since.

So how did you become a fan of F1, and how long have you been a fan? Who's been your favourite constructor, and the one driver that got you hooked, if any?

The most interesting (true) story will get the points, or we'll put it to group vote if I can't pick a winner myself. Be as detailed as you wish.

From the removal of traction control, to night races, to McLaren supplying ECUs to all the teams; what have you heard that's going to make F1 2008 potentially dramatically different from F1 2007? Please cite sources (web page links) if you can.

Firstly, let me say that I think Sebastien has the makings of a great F1 driver BUT coming from a topline Champ Car team (Newman Haas) to a - err- non-podium team in ToroRosso - would that be too much of a shock for him? I'm sure he knows what he's getting into and he's probably already thought about which team he'd like to go to after a year or two with STR but will he get frustrated with the (probable) lack of success in his first F1 team? Shades of Mark Webber - a great driver but always in the wrong team. Yes, I'm an Aussie, by the way!

He's been the dominant force in Champ Car for 4 seasons now. How do you think he'll fare in F1 vs the likes of Alonso and Hamilton? Will his driving skill improve Toro Rosso? Or is the machinery disparity so great in F1 that he'll never overcome it to get close to the McClarens and Ferraris?

Love formula one, have no commitments in life at the moment and I would love to be able to be part of a formula one team, How does one go about getting a job in this industry, if they are not into the engineering side of things, I would love the event organising side of things or setting up the workshop.
any advise would be great

Simply, there are no other series running tyres like this. GP2 started with them and now has regular "slicks" like we all remember fondly.

Do you think it is time to go back to real slicks? Or should F1 stick with the grooves?

Should Marco Andretti be headed to a Formula 1 team as test driver for a year or so with the idea of jumping into a full-time drive?

He did well in his Honda testing and he certainly can drive a road course. Perhaps he can do one more year of IRL while also testing in Europe for a team willing to take a chance. I would rather not see him go to Honda, although that seems to be the best bet right now. Maybe with Gil gone he can move on to a better second tier team. Williams or Red Bull? Can we see the Andretti name back at Ferrari? I doubt Mike would let him anywhere near Ron Dennis!

There is no doubt that McLaren is the best team for now.But Ferrari it's really close now. They improved very much since Indiannapolis. And at least in the next 3 races they seam to have the best chances of winning.

Dont get me wrong that was a ridiculous crash and he is lucky to walk away like that. But its so exaggerated. Everyone who is talking about it is saying that he went 30 feet in the air. One story even said 35 feet in the air, and he even said it himself. Unless i am only seeing bad camera angles it doesnt look like he is anywhere near 35 feet up in the air. That is 3 and half stories up. That is crazy he didnt go that high. So what does everyone think. Did he go that high. If not why is everyone acting like he did.

has it something to do with coughlan asking stephny for the weight balance data of Ferrari 07 car in march ,which Renault have said they have only just found out by trial and error,
what surprises me how fast mclaren have adapted to the bridgestone since the first grand prix in march ,yet honda and renault are still strugling with tyre wear.
if ferrari had the mclaren book people on here would be calling for ferrari to be expelled from f1.
so do you think mclaren have used the ferrari info for their weight and break balance etc.
