let's just say that for now Alonso is not what Ferrari need.they are trying to build up a new team and even if Raikkonen don't have a champion title yet he seams to fit well at Ferrari.Massa knows the team, had good results with Ferrari,he is the 'bond' between the car and the team.
so, even if all the rumors regarding Alonso will turn out to be true, and he will be free at the and of this season, i really don't see a place for him at Ferrari.

Let's look at this as a question worth a decent answer. I think that if things do reach the point where Alonso does indeed decide he's best to leave McLaren (and if the rumour is true that he's been given the green light to leave, which really means he's not wanted back) he has to look to where he can win more Championships. Right now there are only two teams that can get him there: McLaren and Ferrari. So, if he wants to win more Championships, Ferrari is the only other option right now. I don't think returning to Renault is presently something he should consider.

Will all of this happen? Who knows. There's an old adage "it's not true until it has been officially denied" and Alonso's manager today denied the rumours that McLaren have told him (Alonso) he is free to go.

No. Ferrari have solid drivers in Raikkonen and Massa so there is no reason for them to want to acquire Alonso. And besides, Alonso seems to have fit in well with McLaren seeing as how he continues to be a key in the development of their car. Not to mention that the combination of him and Hamilton is cruicial to the team's hopes of becoming contructors champions.

But should Alonso leave, the next best place for him would be with BMW-Sauber. Assuming Mclaren doesn't want him and Ferrari doesn't need him, BMW would definitely benefit from his expertise.

for what?the current skirmishes in the Mclaren camp is a passing phase which will tide over soon.It would be rather Mclaren's loss if they lose Alonso now as depending on Lewis , a rookie, may see them ending up nowhere this season. With Massa & Kimi going great guns,Ferrari may think of Alonso probably in the next season.

I think its still a little early for that question, cuz I really doubt that he will continue in Mclaren next to a driver 5 years younger than himself making him look really bad , and he wouldn't like to join Renault again cuz they appear to be going downhill now + he wouldn't make the mistake of being the team-mate of a younger talented driver AGAIN (Nelson Piquet Jr.) even if they improved next year !! Ferrari seem to be interested in Alonso but they have two great drivers who are doing really good up till now, so they have to wait until something happens or someone messes up !!
To early to decide now, but it will be clearer by the end of this year and during the next season.

If he goes to Ferrari he'll have a bigger problem that he's having right now with Lewis! Regardless who his teammate will be if he signs with them, both drivers are very determined (like Lewis), to win the championship. If he doesn't win, he'll get ticked off like how he's acting right now and he'll end up leaving them too! Going to Renault will be a step down and sources say that they are ready to welcome him back with open arms! There's also talk that BMW may be interested in him too and I think he can do very well there as well! But going to Ferrari will be just as much of a mistake that he made when he moved to Mclaren!

I think he needs to go to one of the lower teams on the totem pole if he wants to be the primary driver and get what he wants out of it. Sure, they won't be able to give him the kind of money he'll get from Mclaren or Ferarri but, if he's in the sport for the sport and not the money, a move like I mentioned above would be far more rewarding!

NO! They don't need him. Who is Alonso anyway? A double world champion crybaby. Cry baby stands out more than double world champion. Ferrari are not that desperate to go for whiners.

it should be left to him. he has to choose the best for him. at present mclaren too is a good team but they are showing the character of a british team. if they avoid it, then alonso too can become an champion of champions like michael schumacher.

No. He should stay in McLaren because Ferrari seems keen on their two current drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa. And he shouldn't walk out of McLaren just because Ron is pissed with him and Lewis or that Lewis and him have issues.

He should stay on to prove them wrong.
