Dont get me wrong that was a ridiculous crash and he is lucky to walk away like that. But its so exaggerated. Everyone who is talking about it is saying that he went 30 feet in the air. One story even said 35 feet in the air, and he even said it himself. Unless i am only seeing bad camera angles it doesnt look like he is anywhere near 35 feet up in the air. That is 3 and half stories up. That is crazy he didnt go that high. So what does everyone think. Did he go that high. If not why is everyone acting like he did.

fun with statics, if you measure from the track where he went air born to the highest part of his body no 10 maybe 15 feet, BUT if you measure from the aprin where he came to rest (5-10 feet lower) to the highest part the car reached (5-10 feet higher) then then you can estimate a travel distance of 30 feet, when your trieing to get someone penalized 30 ft sounds more dramatic than 10

I just saw the crash and yes, it did not seem as high as 35 feet but it was still pretty high. If i had to take a guess i'd say about 15-20 feet in the air...
In this particular case, i read that danica was just defending her teammate, i don't really know since i don't watch it that much...

I don't think he was quite that high in the air.The reason thay r saying it did is because it catches the attention of the few people in this world who arn't race fans already.That way thay just might tune in to the next race.

It was pretty bad and what's up with that Danica Patrick? why is she always getting into altercations with Dan Wheldon? No really I saw the highlights and it wasn't that high.
