having sponsored Lewis for most of his career, i expect Ron knew he was going to get results, after all, you don't back a loser. I'm not sure if he could have predicted just how good he is though. i think that might well of come as a surprise to everyone

Yes, gator, Ron dennis, sure as hell knew what kind of driver he had in his team and knew at a very early age that Lewis Hamilton was a future F1 superstar and he made sure that he got to him first before anyone else did! made all the more easy by Lewis telling Ron that he wanted to drive for him anyway, the deal was sealed by that statement alone. Lewis was noticed as being "different" even by the owner of the carting track where he started his career, he just "stood out"

Absolutely, yes. He's been backing Lewis for years and helped him work his way through the ladder to F1. Could he have known that Hamilton would content for the title in his rookie season, I doubt it. They may have dreamed of this much success this soon, but until this year I expect it remained a dream.

When you sign someone at the age of 10, and train them for 10 years after that to become a world class F1 driver, yeah, im sure he knew that Lewis was gonna be something.
But taking the F1 world by storm, and doing what he has done, unless he was that confident, thats something just about nobody can expect from someone in their first season. What Lewis is doing is unprecidented.
