There are two championships in Formula One: Constructors and Drivers. They are not necessarily dependant on each other. That is why a team must do well, because one driver can dominate and the other finish outside of points or even have low points, and the constructors championship go to another team who has both drivers scoring good points consistently, win. Mclaren is being punished which is seperate from the drivers.
Quite frankly, they should have penalized Alonso by taking his points as well. Scumi went to the very last position when he blocked Alonso. I believe whats fair for one is fair for the other.

It was a punishment for the whole team, especially Ron Dennis. It was because Ron didn't have a grip on his drivers and as been proven since, still doesn't have any contol over Alonso. Hamilton has made it clear that he wants to burn bridges and did so with the team before the start of Sunday's race but Alonso is now not speaking to him. Therefore, we have a driver that wants to get the air clear for the sake of the team, as it's in his interest to have harmony and one driver that doesn't care about the team because he is the great Alonso and he can do what he likes. If Alonso continues with his behaviour, I can see it getting much worse for Ron Dennis and McLaren.

Because rule are rules and a team is not allowed to play favorites with its drivers, especially when one is already on the pole. Had the team directed a driver in 10th place to make way for their team mate in 1st place, by all means this makes sense. But to give an order than would alter 1st place between two team mates at the whim of the owner is not allowed, thus, even though Hamilton disobeyed the order, Alonso and the pit crew had no business block the pit, either. This the team and Alonso, who knows better, were penalized.

McLaren weren't granted points in the Constructors championships. So the actual team McLaren received no points. However the actual McLaren drivers were not punished and the points they earn go towards their individual tallies in the drivers championships.

treating somebody particularly and giving somebody preferencial therapy are 2 distinctive issues. alonso did not like that ron dennis became giving him equivalent therapy to his team mate. if he knew something approximately mclaren and ron dennis, he could have popular that this has continually been the way at mclaren. he did not like the actuality that his teammate became equivalent to him in the gang, and early in the season extra effectual than him on the music. he's betrayed his team various circumstances this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, employing grimy tricks and employing the spanish media. he's spoken out against his modern-day team with none existence like foundation, and without reality only like he did at renault final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, its that lewis is a british driving force on a british team, so he's getting favouritism (something that there became no info of). final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days it became that the gang have been attempting to sabatage him simply by fact they did not choose to work out the quantity a million pass to mclaren with him next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. that's the form of guy he's. i enjoyed him lower back while he became a minardi driving force, and in his first season with renault, earlier i knew what he became particularly like. if hamilton became particularly the "bosses goldenboy" then why could the boss have placed the blame for hungary on the goldenboy? while of course, the extra severe crime became the blatant grimy cheating pass of blocking off a team mate for the appropriate quantity of time to verify that he could not make yet another flying lap. not lots extra effectual than what schumacher allegedly intentionally did in monacco final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. for the checklist, i'm not prepared on mclaren or ron dennis. and that i admire flavio. yet while flavio takes alonso lower back after he's blackmailed his own boss to get preferential treatmen, i'm going to lose particularly appreciate for the guy. alonso needs to methods to be a team participant, and needs to learn that even with being a good driving force, he's not the boss of the gang, and he's not neccessarily the terrific driving force. somebody extra effectual continually comes alongside faster or later.

The FIA, in their infinite wisdom found it fit to penalize one team and one driver for saturday's qualifying errors. The driver was demoted 5 places in the grid. The team was not to score any points (subject to appeal) no matter how it finishes.
It might seem strange, but thats the only way to penalize the team, but not let the drivers suffer for that.

Because the logic is twisted. Because I think F1 wants Lewis to win. I reckon anyone or any team can lose points . . . except Hamilton!
